20 new cases of COVID-19 in Antigua

(Dashboard Update for March 15, 2021)

 

The most recent reports received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC) and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) have revealed twenty (20) new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Saturday 13th March 2021 at 6pm.

 

 

These new cases were as a result of twenty-six (26) samples sent to MSJMC and one hundred (100) samples processed by CARPHA.

 

Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is nine hundred and eighty-three (983); which is inclusive of three hundred and fifty-eight (358) active cases.

 

 

Meanwhile, five hundred and eighty-eight (588) Covid-19 vaccines were administered since the last publication bringing the total number of individuals vaccinated to twenty four thousand one hundred and sixty-four (24,164).

 

 

The dashboard has been updated to reflect these changes.

  1. It appears that the recovery rate over the last week or so (or since the new dashboard went online) has been very high compared to how it was previously.

    If that is so, then a much welcomed trend indeed.

    Just making this observation: since even though the number of new cases continue to be high, the number of active cases decreases at each new posting.

    Hopefully, the calculations are correct or do we need to call in an expert mathematician to do the arithmetic.

    Is it magimatics ? Somebody working magic with the numbers.
