2-year-old boy and grandmother savagely slain in St Lucia

LOOP: A family of Vieux-Fort, St Lucia, is consumed with grief and anger after two of their loved ones were slain while in their bed on Saturday.

Dead are Tara Joseph, 47, also known as Lucess, who was shot four times, and her grandson, Kentrell Joseph, two, who received eight gunshots. Tara was pronounced dead at the hospital, while her grandson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.

According to a family member, the assailants used a chair to reach a partially opened window in the house from where they fired the gunshots.

“I heard someone kick the gate open and heard gunshots bursting. I did not want to open my door because gunshots were bursting,” the family member recounted.

He said his cousin in the nearby house shouted at him, saying that they were killing his mother.

“I came in the yard and saw the child flat on the ground. Those guys have no heart,” the family member grieved.

The assailants went into another home of a relative of the victim before shooting the two victims, but the occupant of that home wasn’t there at the time.

“If I was at my home I would be dead also. It’s a good thing I was not at home,” the grieving family member said.

On Saturday, April 8, the presence of the police officers wasn’t as noticeable in Vieux-Fort as in previous days. The grieving family members believed that the incident may not have occurred had there been a strong police presence.

In another incident, a young man of Vieux-Fort was gunned down Saturday night in the usually quiet community of Cedars Heights.

What u people should be focusing on is why the hell a 2 year old should recieved such a death? What the hell can a 2 year old do to deserve that?!! Karma is a bitch and those low life people will pay one day!!

  6. Yes! The article said “St. Lucia, the one and same where RPAB just sent seven(7) members to help with #Crime Fighting, in said St. Lucia due to the increase in criminal activities.

    #Condolences to the bereaved!

Whether, it’s St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Antigua, Grenada etc, they are all a part of the OECS which is experiencing sharp increase in serious crimes. This trend will affect the entire OECS, since, many citizens of the OECS have been granted FREE MOVEMENT within the Nations, therefore, we can all expect criminals to be moving about freely, as well.

I hope, that law enforcement in the OECS and CARICOM have established databases which are storing criminals crimes and their whereabouts.
Crime Fighting is gonna get tougher in the region. The rattling bones of #Mami_Wata and #Papa_Elegba have already signal this.

    • @Ras Smood.
What you say is all well and good but what happens when or if the criminals are caught? They get a fair trial and if found guilty are given life sentences. That means they are provided with three meals a day and accommodation, not top class it’s true, at taxpayers expense. It isn’t the done thing these days but in order to reduce these heinous murders the solution is to reintroduce capital punishment, not a popular sentiment in some quaters these days. The bleeding hearts will be in up in arms and frothing at the mouth but let them do what they do. This soft pedalling, pussyfooting nonsense in dealing with these scum has got to stop at some point. Capital is the way to go in reducing these heartless crimes.

      • @oversee…whenever “criminals”(white collar or blue collar), and they are found guilty, beyond the shadow of a doubt, they MUST be punished according to the ‘law.’
I have no issues with the death penalty. Once all appeals are exhausted, hang, lethal injection or even use the same method that was used to murder the individual(s) on them.
I have a concern with how, the legal system from the police to the magistrate/judge and how #White_Collar crimes are handled. Studies and statistics have shown, that White Collar crimes and Blue_Collar crimes go hand in glove. As in, they support each other.

  7. All I have to repeat as someone else said – When your neighbor house on fire wet fu u. The fighting in our schools and young boys masked up with cutlasses is a clear indication that Antigua and Barbuda is not far away. Azille smell the rat and put hand in a heel and fled the scene another clear indication after decades of teaching and head of the teachers Union.

  8. I just wrote- when your neighbor house on fire wet fu u. I did not know of the shooting that took place at G Spot here in Antigua. That resulted in Two young men in their early twenties getting shot. Well the police better be on top of this like gravy pan rice. Them young people don’t talk these days they retaliate. Antigua house is on fire 🔥 too. Better send back for them law enforcement officers we sent to St.Lucia and let’s get going before the storm hit Antigua. Let’s nip it in the bud right now Mr.PM , Mr.AG and Mr.Police Commissioner.

  9. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. There’s a reason why the 2 year old was shot so many times, that’s the question to ask
