19-year-old Nicholas Augustine charged, bailed for causing death of 17-year-old Theophilus Dyett by dangerous driving

Police reported that 19yr-old Nicholas Augustine of Jennings was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 for Causing Death by Dangerous Driving. He is accused of causing the death of 17yr-old Theophilus Dyett of Jennings, on January 10th, 2020 on Valley Road.

He appeared before Magistrate Wason on Wednesday, and was ordered to pay a deposit of $5,000 and provide two Antiguan sureties.

He must also surrender his travel documents and report to Johnson’s Point and Bolans Police Stations between 6am and 6pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Augustine is alleged to have been the driver of a Silver Honda Fit M/Car R 3616 that lost control and collided with a metal utility pole in the vicinity of Hall’s Estate.

Dyett was one of two passengers inside the vehicle at the time, and was transported to Mount St. John’s Medical Center in critical condition.

He remained at the hospital until March 18th, when he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor. Committal date is set for 17th September, 2020.

  1. It’s time these crazy drivers are put off the road, charges laid, and upon guilt punished to the full extent of the law. The authorities are handling this properly. Now do the same with all the other cases.

  3. These young drivers need to face the full brunt of the law….. Our roads are so narrow yet still they are been used as highways just to show off….. Ironically, these drivers who ends up in fatal accidents tend to be the ones who get away scotts free from the accident and their passengers get the worst of it…..
