Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly assaulted a 19-year-old on Amy Byers Street in Yorks village with a gun at around 8 p.m.
According to reports, the victim reported the incident to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), stating that a man from Villa had attacked him with a firearm.
The teenager claimed that he was walking eastward on Amy Byers Street when he was approached by another young man near the Baptist Church, who tried to initiate a conversation with him.
When the victim refused to respond, the alleged perpetrator produced a silver gun from his pocket and held it to the youth’s head.
The Yorks resident pleaded with the Villa man not to shoot him, and then walked away. Officers searched the area with the victim but could not locate the alleged offender.
The incident is currently under investigation, and the police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
