The Board of Education will roll out its Laptops for Secondary Schools initiative in a week’s time.

The Antigua Grammar School, Antigua Girl’s High and Princess Margaret Secondary have been selected as the pilot schools for the initiative.

Laptops will first be distributed to teachers.

Some 1,485 laptops have arrived on the island and another 3,515 are waiting to be delivered.

At the end of the pilot phase, scheduled for completion in a month’s time, distribution will commence in all other government secondary schools

  1. Good initiative.
Please be smart – target kids that do NOT have access to a laptop first – whichever school they attend. ( there are many hundreds reported in past year, 3 kids sharing access to one smart phone etc.).
Kids that have their own laptop should not be given a Ministry laptop until all other kids have received.

Curious why the ‘top’ govt. schools targeted first… Seems more far-flung schools may have more pupils in need.

    Thank you
