Speaking on his weekly radio program on Saturday, Browne hinted that the Election Day is “close” but he will announce it when he’s assured that his Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) will receive a resounding mandate from the electorate.
“Election will come when it’s appropriate for us to when 17 seats,” Browne said.
“I could call elections next month and the Labour Party will win the elections.”
Elections are due to take place between March and April 2023. Currently, the ABLP holds 15 of 17 seats in the House of Representatives.
Browne called on Antiguans and Barbudians not to be fooled by the “lies” and “deceit” of his detractors in the United Progressive Party and Barbuda People’s Movement since they are only concerned with benefiting from state resources.
He also noted that Antigua and Barbuda has seen tremendous growth under his stewardship and it is due to be one of the fastest growing Eastern Caribbean economies in a world plagued by COVID-19. (LOOP CARIBBEAN)
