12-year-old boy succumbs to burn injuries

The young boy who suffered burns to 68 per cent of his body during a fire at his home has died.

Family members confirmed the sad news.

The 12-year-old Roosevelt Browne succumbed to his injuries this morning at the Mount St John’s Medical Centre.

He was burned in a fire that also destroyed his Ottos home.

Browne was rescued from the burning house but did not survive despite the efforts of officials at the hospital.

  1. He should have been flown out to Martinique or Guadeloupe from day one. We do not have the facilities or skill sets to treat these types of burns.

  2. Condolences! Wasn’t he worth as much as the other burned victim who was flown out to France and got premium service? May his family find comfort in God.
