ABS: Zandra Martin has received the keys to her newly rebuilt home in Johnson’s Village, after losing everything in a fire on March 3 2025. Martin expresses her gratitude to everyone involved in making this possible.

She tells ABS News she had only requested from St John’s Rural East MP and Housing Minister, Hon. Maria Browne, the use of a backhoe to clear the rubble.

MP Browne and Social Transformation Minister Hon. Rawdon Turner however collaborated with the HAPI initiative to completely rebuild and furnish the family’s home.

Hot Deals Outlet donated $20,000 worth of furniture, appliances and household supplies to Zandra and her family.

Donations were also made by King’s Casino.

  1. Congratulations to the government for helping these people in need after disaster, but it should be done more resilient as the government preach with a concrete exoskeleton holding the roof and floor to stand against hurricane.

  2. Only Labour Party Supporters can get these sort of help from the HAPI Program Initiative. Just the same way as with the Medical Benefits Scheme, although we all contribute.
Haven’t heard or known of any opposition individuals been given a house, under the HAPI Program Initiative.
