Antigua and Barbuda’s rising soca sensation, Young Lyrics, has wrapped up a dynamic and impactful media tour across Trinidad, marking a significant milestone in his growing regional career. The self-funded initiative took him across several radio and television studios, as well as key networking events within Trinidad and Tobago’s vibrant entertainment industry.

According to Young Lyrics, the tour was more than a promotional run. It was a strategic step in elevating both his music and his homeland.

“This trip wasn’t just about pushing Young Lyrics,” he explained. “It was important for me to represent Antigua and Barbuda and let people know about our talent, our culture, and our carnival. Everywhere I went, I made sure they knew Antigua is a place they need to pay attention to.”

During his stay, Young Lyrics immersed himself in Trinidad’s rich cultural scene and experienced firsthand the fast paced, highly structured nature of the twin island nation’s entertainment industry.

“One thing that really stood out to me is how organized their industry is,” he noted. “From their radio stations to their event structure, everything runs like a machine. It motivates me to keep working harder and to help strengthen our industry back home.”

He also embraced Trinidad’s famously energetic social culture, an eye opening experience that left a lasting impression.

“Trinis really know how to lime and party,” he said with a laugh. “I thought I knew what partying was, but Trinidad is on another level. The vibes, the energy, the love they show, it’s something special.”

Originally, the tour was conceived as part of a larger initiative, a full “Antiguan Invasion,” featuring a collective of artists and producers showcasing the nation’s presence in soca. However, scheduling challenges meant Young Lyrics ultimately made the journey solo.

“The plan was to bring a strong team so we could make an even bigger impact,” he explained. “Even though that didn’t happen this time, the goal isn’t dead. I’m hoping in the future we can return as a united front and show the region that Antigua is a rising force in soca.”

Young Lyrics also mentioned the possibility of taking this model of promotion to other islands and regions, building similar tours that connect Antigua and Barbuda’s talent with wider audiences across the Caribbean and beyond.

Still, the experience proved invaluable. Young Lyrics believes the exposure gained in Trinidad will play a crucial role in pushing his career forward both regionally and internationally.

“Being in Trinidad, one of the meccas of soca, was necessary for my growth,” he said. “It opened doors, created connections, and gave me a clearer vision of where I want to go as an artist.”

With momentum building, Young Lyrics already has plans to return for Trinidad Carnival.

“I definitely have to come back for carnival,” he confirmed. “The culture, the music, the energy, Trinidad is a place I want to keep building with.”

As he continues to elevate his craft, Young Lyrics remains committed to using every opportunity to push Antigua and Barbuda forward on the regional soca map. His Trinidad media tour may have been just the beginning, but it has already sent a strong signal. Antigua is ready to rise, and Young Lyrics is leading the charge.
