Antigua and Barbuda’s outstanding women will take the spotlight as the Women of Wadadli (WOW) Awards return in 2025.

Jointly organised by the Directorate of Gender Affairs and Caribbean Union Bank, the awards recognise female leaders shaping the nation’s future across various fields, from the arts to technology.

Nominees must be at least 30 years old and have made a significant impact in their sector, whether in education, sports, or science.

The prestigious Dame Gwendolyn Tonge Lifetime Legacy Award honours women aged 55 and over for their enduring contributions to society.

Nominations close on 6 February and can be submitted via the Department of Gender Affairs’ Facebook page.

  1. The Women of Wadadli Awards is a fantastic initiative that shines a well-deserved spotlight on outstanding individuals. That said, it would be even more impactful if the recognition came with mentorship programs or funding opportunities to further support women’s progress beyond the awards ceremony.

  2. It would be great to see more transparency in the selection process to ensure that a diverse range of women across different fields and backgrounds are acknowledged.
