A woman has taken the witness stand in the High Court to testify that two police officers raped her in 2017.

The officers face trial before Justice Ann-Marie Smith and a jury of five women and four men for an alleged attack on 12 May at Cooks.

The complainant told the court the incident followed an evening spent with a WhatsApp group that included the defendants. She said she got into a vehicle with the men, who drove her to a secluded area, threatened her with a gun, and sexually assaulted her. She described forced intercourse and other sexual acts, and said the officers threatened to kill her if she reported the attack.

Afterwards, she said she left the scene, went to a bar, and reported the incident to police the following morning. Police later recovered a wrapper and condom at the location.

She also described post-incident messages from the officers, in which one allegedly minimised the encounter and suggested it had been “planned” within the group.

During cross-examination, defence lawyers challenged details of her testimony, including whether the vehicle stopped and the complainant’s recollection of events, suggesting inconsistencies with her police statement.

The cross-examination continues.

  1. Hmmmmmm……Who u gonna call the Police?? We are the Police…..SMH…..Hope this story comes to light and if they are guilty they should go to 1735 not ABDF base….

  2. One question: why has it taken so long to bring this particular case to court? And why are so many important cases pushed to the back-burner?

Is our judicial system broken, or is it just a symptom of who you know in the higher echelons of society?

    I HOPE I’M WRONG …
