Oh my Gosh what a surge of evil death and violence is in this country. We need to pray to God that he eill heal our land
Antiguans need to understand that we are no longer the peaceful country we once was. Robberies, murders, raping women and young girls, young men skipping school to do drugs and not work, school fights, sickness and death of many prominent figures in the community, corruption within the public sector and the lewd behavior of antiguans overall. All of these things have increased within the last two-three years. Carnival seems to be getting worse as well with children as young as five years old dressing in revealing clothing. All i will say is that this is just the beginning. This is God’s judgement on this nation. The so called ‘praying people’ of this nation cannot prevent it either
Y’all always believe “God” is whipping out a big stick to beat black people but he/she/it never seems to have the time to go and deal with the people who oppressed us for years.
Let’s come up with practical solutions to this problem and leave “God” in fairy tales, where he/she/it belongs.
God is not always directly punishing us. Sometimes we punish ourselves by turning away from God. When the Country was more religious, people’s minds were less corruptible, and these things didn’t happen. There used to be 1-3 murders a year only and they were usually from a heated argument between two men, sometimes because of alcohol. We didn’t have cold blooded murders or armed robbery attempts. So, the decline of religiously has helped to fuel these situations. The “practical” solution is actually to return to our religious ways as a nation. It baffles me that people think that morality can be thrown out the window but some other way of achieving peace is possible…
BODY FOUND…? …IS THAT ALL…? …A GRAPHIC COMMENT
PROFESSIONAL PERSPECTIVE: …TIME TO FACE REALITY’
DEFENCE OR ATTACK
Though not necessarily in ‘…DEFENCE’ or ATTACK,’ this is certainly not the ‘…FORUM’ to ‘…POINT FINGERS.’ Possess a fairly good knowledge of ‘CRIMINALITY’ and how it might be controlled.
None shall deny, and it shall be ‘…BOLDLY and FAIRLY’ said, there are some ‘…Criminal Acts,’ that cannot be prevented. However, there are some measures that can be taken to ‘LESSEN’ their occurrences.
UP-FRONT CRIME FIGHTING
Crime is neither fought behind a ‘…DESK’ nor in ‘…FLIGHT.’
Those that so believed, and so ‘…ALLOWED,’ are ‘…READING AN ILLUSION.’
Well, as a ‘Former ‘…UP-FRONT’ Crime Fighter,’ it pains.
Sadly, was early-o-clock, reliably informed of:
(i) ‘…A most GRUESOME SIGHT: of
(ii) …A most brutal, vicious and heinous ‘MURDER’ of an apparent ‘…DEFENCELESS FEMALE.’
As was described:
(a) ‘…Horribly gaping bodily INJURIES:
(b) …Vicious head and neck wounds: and
(c) …Possible ‘…Defensive Severed Rist.’
CARNAGE AND BLOOD-STAINED HANDS: …ORGANIZATIONAL VISITATIONS
Lest ‘…THE CARNAGE,’ is allowed to continue, and the ‘…INNOCENT BLOOD’ continue to ‘…STAIN THE HANDS OF OFFICIALDOM,’ the time seems nigh for ‘…ORGANIZATIONAL VISITATIONS.’
DAILY HORRORS- STOP PUSSY-FOOTING
The ‘DAILY HORRORS’ shall cease: ‘…CHIPS’ shall fall where they may: …No more time for ‘…PUSSY-FOOTING.’
Our dear beloved country is going through a real bad patch of unprecedented criminal activities and murder. I am calling on our church leaders in particular to get together and invoke God’s help and guidance as we battle through these rough “seas” as only he can. It is clear that this situation is already out of hand and getting worse daily. My heart bleeds for our Nation. By the way, early but yet unconfirmed reports suggest that the deceased is a 15 year old female.
Yes, churches and leaders need to step things up a bit. Sadly, even church members are often too busy competing for status to pay attention to how they can help. They make little to no effort to reach out to the lost. There should be buses from every denomination driving up and down the island every Sunday to give people a chance to go to church and take their kids to Sunday school or churches could have ride share boards so people can sign up to transport those who need it. Where also are the tent revivals with dynamic invited speakers in different communities each year? I remember attending such from other denominations as a child and finding them quite enjoyable. Even youth groups are busy with “fun” activities instead of being encouraged to do acts of service in the community. Churches today operate like an exclusive social club instead of an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome. If churches made it easier for people to get to them, and did more community outreach (not badgering people just helping out), perhaps more lost souls would decide to attend and society would improve.
It’s funny how y’all on here early in the morning to make comments and complain and y’all are in y’all 30-60s and y’all don’t care bout nun
Y’all cuss young people and most of us come up in homes with some y’all nasty attitude and behavior and all I see over the year are y’all never put it on y’all self to be bigger than the government but once people dead or things go south y’all wanna complain on radio and the internet like that help, y’all make Antigua soft
I would have to completely agree with Pompey, the comment he made on this article. I already expressed to the police this weekend would be critical and expect more heinous crimes.
I strongly believe that proper crime fighting requires pragmatic researchers and experts that analyzes day to day information that help to guide upfront/muscles law enforcement officers so that the opportunities to commit crimes can be reduces to the lowest it can be.
At this time, based on the current resources of the police, the police is not doing all it could do, because basic strategies from experts in opportunity reduction to commit crimes are not being used.
I have expressed numerous information to the helm of the force that has been proven to be substantially correct, imagine having access to that kind of analysis daily and implementing it, how better off safety and national security would be in Antigua.
Welcome to Jamrock!
As I continue to say, antigua has too much Jamaican killers and molesters living here…….I as a Jamaican see them here in this little lovely country and wonder how do they get here, don’t the immigration department check their background???I can say because I see them walking the streets of antigua………….Only the government can pick them up and send them back home to face justice there, they’re all wanted back home for crimes……..They don’t even work here in the country I know of three for a fact,I’m talking about males……..Antigua is a playground for these guys, wakeup Mr prime minister.
This is a useful point. Can the region start a website where the pictures of wanted persons can be posted so that people and police in other islands can be on the lookout for them so they can be captured and sent back if there is evidence against them back home. Or, if there is not enough evidence to convict over there, Jamaican police can send the info to Antiguan police etc. so they can keep an eye on them in case they try something here.
…is this #collateral_damage?
…and, is it to late, to stop the carnage?
…as, HUEman bodies are being discarded, as garbage!
…not only have the citizenry, become enraged
…but, law enforcement seems to be overwhelmed
…it quite obvious, it’s time for the authorities,
…to step up their game!
…’cause, crying a #sky_being name!
…oh god to, Why Satan?
…ain’t gonna stop, some people from acting insane!
…nor, stop the blood of HUEmans
…from, seeping into the land.

The problem I have with Antiguans and the foreign nationals that lives in Antigua are, their willingness to call on God to solve problems. Why can’t y’all see that collectively y’all have the power to stop some of the crime and violence that’s taking place in the island. Since I started following this site, I’ve noticed that only ONE person will go to the lengths of calling out the inadequacies of the police dept. when it comes to dealing with possible sex trafficking of underage girls. If every adult that observes what could possibly be nefarious goings on between adults and children would inundate the police dept with reports they would be duty bound to investigate these reports. But when it’s a single individual doing so, they become an easy target for police to ignore and perhaps to even victimize. You all together have the POWER that you’re calling on GOD for. STOP keeping y’all mouths shut when you see things that are wrong going on. It should be EVERYONE’S business to look out for all the children in Antigua.
Get up and do something; stop waiting on GOD. GOD helps those who help themselves!
Nothing wrong with calling on God. Stop telling people what to do with their faith. Also, nothing wrong with trying to solve the problem as human beings. However, without God in it there is no gurantee of successm The best approach is both. In fact whenever Jesus performed a miracle, He always asked the person to do something first. They took the first step while believing that God would help them. They stepped out in faith. That is the proper approach. Try something while also praying and trusting God for it to work. God often works through us.
However, sometimes a situation is almost impossible and only praying to God gives the inspiration of what to do. Sometimes God allows things to come to light that were hidden so the problem can be solved by people. It’s not that easy to prevent certain things e.g. the adult men and underage girls are not hanging out getting it on in public places. How would anyone know what’s going on if they see two people talking? So, while we should try our best as a society, sometimes only prayer works. In fact, the best way to prevent those situations is to raise the girls with as much morals and preventative insight as possible. Preach God’s word and also share real life stories from the past so they don’t fall into these situations. Also, be Christian and loving enough that they can come to you as a trustworthy adult if anyone tries anything with them. So, Keep God in it!
People let’s leave the calling on god and pointing the finger at each others for another time. At this time we need to centralize and organize. We don’t need any assistance from these crooked politicians. We all need to select community leaders, militias and community watch groups. Cover your ears: WE NEED TO ARM THEM. We need to take the fight to these criminals. It has to get worse before it gets better. We hear the talk in the streets after these acts are committed. We need street justice. How are the men of this nation not out in full arms today demanding answers. Only when we organize, we can move forward. If there are foreigners here that and see criminals from there islands say something. This is only to ensure your peace of mind and quality of living. The real men have lead and maybe these politicians may catch up.
My God we a prayervigil .JESUS
I recall when the fruits In the villages were basically “free for all.” Abolished!
Throwing stones at your enemy was the weapon of choice; gone!
Protecting the female members of ones family…
Lost!
The respect for life and the dignity/care for the elderly… Chuptz!
@Antugua needs help, my mother used to say, “de uppola wosser dan de teef.”
Translated: the upholder worst than the thief.
If you know there are “3 wanted Jamaican criminals” that are walking freely in Antigua, there is an anonymous hotline you can call and tell the police who they are and anything else you may know. Coming on
ANR using a pseudonym and mentioning this claim is of no value to the country and its residents. If you really care about the country where you are living, that’s what you should do. But it’s obvious, that your loyalty is to those “criminal Jamaicans.”
@chups. God judges everyone and everything whether you are black, white or asian. You cant leave him out of anything. At the end of the day, there is a Heaven and a Hell. Hell being God’s ultimate judgement on the sins of the world. I will say to you to make sure that your soul is right with him before it is too late
The country needs fixing urgently everything wrong, murder, robbery, what’s next kidnapping? For 8 days now Bolans no hab water. All fall dung
👁️👁️ To you I reply, i agree with your comments. But please do not underestimate the power of God and any calling upon that power; it is essential; it is not a religious thing. ☮️💟
I am not underestimating the power of prayer at all, I assure you. I honestly feel that this is something that we can handle ourselves. God help those who help themselves. That’s my position
@Lynn, the power of God is within you! Unfortunately, we were taught to believe it is something external. When you pray to God and strongly believe that God is going to answer your prayer, it is that belief that causes the manifestation of what you’re asking for. If we weren’t taught all the BS about our ancestors spiritual practices, we would know that we are already in possession the power to make anything happen. So, I certainly don’t underestimate the power of God, because I know itresides within me.
The problem is that we are leaving God out of everything thing. Some Children are out on the streets late and come home whenever they feel like while their parents are on their own business. Children smoking; even vaps. Take your children to church, not carnival and not fete. Teach your children, raise them according to God’s Word stop leaving them for the streets to teach them and wonder what’s wrong with them. The devil is out there he seeking to kill, steal and destroy our children. We need God in everything each and everyday. II Chronicles 7:14 NKJV if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
We need to pray, pray, repent, repent and serve, serve God!
Your heading should read: “TEENAGE FEMALE BODY FOUND AT OLD RUNAWAY BEACH”. A 15 year-old murdered in such a horrible way. This is utterly shocking and a heart wrenched experience. My heart could not avoid contracting in pain and my eyes yielding tears of sadness, hurt and disbelieve. Thinking about the victim I may add this: 1) I pray that her soul be guided to light and love. 2) I pray for and send condolences to her parents, family, friends and peers. 3) I pray for action and justice. 4) I also pray for guidance, protection and love to be given and showed to our beloved children and teenagers, even mire so. 5) For now, I lastly pray for a more caring and compassionate community and that politics and blame do not take us towards wrong paths and outcomes. Grant us Oh Lord -Antigua and Barbuda- the restoration of a healthy, strong and understanding community with law and order in place to promptly and rightly handle the disarray, crimes and state of affairs that are presently affecting the core values of the nation. I conclude now by stating; remember the power and might of our Lord. Of Jesus Christ our redeemer, asking even as a miracle; that we return to the state of the beautiful twin islands we were created to be in all ways, shape and form. End all evil, this we pray for, and give thanks this Sunday, August 18, 2024 🇦🇬 ☮️💟 With all due respect; and yes, including God.
@so, stfu! And who the F are you to tell me what I should stop doing anyway? There is no where in my comment that I told anyone to do with their faith.. I wrote that they have the power to do what they are calling on GOD to do. And to start doing the work they they’re waiting on God to do. Maybe you should try comprehending what you read before coming on here trying to tell ME what to do. GFY, ya MS!
.
Wow “stfu” you say… That tells me all I need to know about you…. Anyway, you said you have a problem with people being willing to call on God… So, yes, you suggested people should not call on God. “God helps those who helps themselves” is just a saying. It is not scripture. The Bible says call on Him and he will answer. Nowhere in the Bible does it say to leave God out of problems. In fact, quite the opposite. So, you are in fact telling Christians what to do without understanding Christianity. Maybe try reading the Bible sometimes before telling people what to do. If you have your own different religion that’s fine, but most people who talk about God here are speaking from the Christian perspective.
👁️👁️ Yes, I know that the power of God is within us all because we are part of God our Father and Creator. However being humans, not all have the capacity or have reached the point yet of manifesting our God-given potential and one of the tools we have to assist us, is prayer and/or asking for assistance. Remember that we sometimes have to surrender and say: Dear God, I on my own cannot do this; You can do it all. I surrender this to you and let Your WILL be done. I am grateful God for your response (or solution). And so it is. (God has given us this choice and free will and we get to a point where We allow HIS WILL to be done. That is when we see or hear the saying “Not my WILL dear God, but Your WILL be done”. Especially in (or for) very difficult situations in our lives, nation or in the world at large. Just sharing with you ok? 🤣☮️💟
