The trial involving local Pilot, Colin Murraine, had more witnesses from the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) testifying that Murraine has been afraid for the life of his family and had refused to say who gave him an estimated $1.7 million worth of cocaine to transport.
31-year-old Murraine was implicated in the recent ONDCP drug seizure at the V. C. Bird International Airport where 47.5 kilos of cocaine were found on a private charter plane that was preparing for takeoff.
According to the ONDCP, the estimated wholesale street value for the 47.51kg (105lbs) of cocaine is One Million, Six Hundred and Sixty-seven Thousand, Six Hundred and One EC Dollars ($1,667,601.00 ECD).
Tactical and Surveillance Team at the Office of National Drug and money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) Supervisor, Calvin Brown, told the court that Murraine told him that he was scared for the life of his family.
“After a long pause and tearful eyes, he stated, “officer I’m afraid for my family. You guys need to help me, I don’t want nothing to happen to my family’,” Brown testified.
Brown testified saying the pilot told him privately that a man gave him two bags to carry and that he did not know what was in the bag.
Brown added that the pilot had planned to carry the bag to Bermuda.
“He said he was only asked to take the bags to Bermuda,” the officer said.
Another witness, the ONDCP arresting officer at the time, Ashley Christian, also testified saying Murraine expressed the same fear for his life and family and added that Murraine told her that he was seeing strange vehicles around his home.
Murraine’s lawyer Wendel Robinson suggested that Brown’s testimony was circumstantial, as no written notes had been taken of the interaction between him or another officer.

Somebody give you two bags to carry and you don’t ask them about the content as well as check for yourself? You are a PILOT and should know better. Now YOU are the one who has put your family at risk. Tears won’t help you now. We live and we learn.
Please help this Guy. I believe His story. He should be found not guilty and released. People can put you in a spot where you can do something out of fear for your FAMILY. Let Us have a heart. Do not spoil this Guy life.
He was the pilot and took two bags from someone allegedly not knowing what was in them? He should serve extra time for stupidity!!!
@JUSTICE why don’t you “have a heart”and volunteer to take his place?
Hypocrisy, Why don’t you “have a heart” and volunteer to take his place???
I don’t think this is beginner’s bad luck. If he snitches they will come after him. If he becomes government witness, can they protect him?
It’s hard to have any sympathy for an accused drug runner. I don’t believe his story. Name names, dude, or your going to face some serious time. I have a heart for all of those whose lives have been saved. He soiled his own life, and spoiled it too. There is no sympathy for drug runners. In some countries they’re still executing people for things like this. Now talk. Squeal like a stuck pig so the police can go after the ones behind all this. He has wasted his own life, but thank God many lives were saved through the fine work of the Antigua authorities.
Those tears mean nothing. What he crying for? You play you pay. Now start talkin’. Name names, loud and clear. And stop your crying.
By crying and not revealing names does he expect sympathy from the system? Whomever believe his story should be offered a one way trip to HELL. Yes someone probably gave him the packages however he knew what was in those packages and the reward. A Pilot? Now he is allegedly crying for his family? He put their lives in harms way those innocent family members! Who was the receiver at his destination? If he wants to take the fall to save his family then do so but the court has nothing to be lenient about. If that be the case them everyone can board a plane with drugs and if caught, don’t reveal names and claim “their family lives are in harms way and expect sympathy?
.The truth is…if you play with fire, you get burnt. His only alternative is to sing like a canary. Name names, all of them. Otherwise no sympathy for him.
I am still on the fence with this one. We have Another witness, “the ONDCP arresting officer at the time, Ashley Christian, also testified saying Murraine expressed the same fear for his life and family and added that Murraine told her that he was seeing strange vehicles around his home.”
Was this information part of the original investigation? If it is, are we to believe this “lie / story” was put in place “just in case”? It is the “just in case” part that has me baffled!!
In today’s society, Drug Lords normally paid pilots and flight attendants to smuggle drugs for them from country to country. He just happened to be caught. That is why I don’t transport anything for anyone without knowing the content. My life, family life, and my reputation are more important than money. That is my philosophy.
