Withdrawal from WHO Could Have Far-Reaching Consequences for Antigua a Barbuda and the Caribbean, says Dr. Eldean Eudelle

The United States’ decision to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO) has sparked global concern, and the implications for small island nations like Antigua and Barbuda, as well as the wider Caribbean, could be significant. Dr. Eldean Atiba Eudelle, a newly graduated obstetrician-gynecologist and advocate for public health, has voiced his concern about the potential ripple effects on healthcare systems in the region.

“The WHO plays a critical role in supporting global health initiatives, especially in developing regions,” Dr. E stated. “From combating infectious diseases to improving maternal and child health, the resources and guidance provided by the WHO are essential to nations with limited healthcare infrastructure. The U.S. withdrawal could weaken the WHO’s ability to respond effectively to global health challenges, and that puts vulnerable regions like the Caribbean at risk.”

Impacts on the Caribbean

Dr. E explained that the WHO provides vital technical and financial assistance to countries in the region. “Many Caribbean nations, including Antigua and Barbuda, rely on WHO guidance and support to address public health issues such as vaccine distribution, disease surveillance, and health education campaigns,” he said.

One immediate concern is the potential disruption to vaccine programs, including those for childhood immunizations and critical initiatives like the HPV vaccine, which protects against cervical cancer. “Without coordinated international support, access to vaccines could become limited, particularly for smaller nations with fewer resources,” Dr. E warned.

The region also depends on the WHO for technical expertise during health emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. “When COVID-19 hit, the WHO provided critical guidance on testing, treatment protocols, and vaccine rollout. A weakened WHO means that future pandemics or health crises may not be met with the same level of global coordination,” Dr. E explained.

Economic and Social Consequences

Dr. E also highlighted the economic repercussions of weakened health systems. “The health of a nation is directly tied to its economy. If we cannot effectively control diseases or manage public health challenges, our tourism-dependent economies will suffer, and so will the livelihoods of our people,” he said.

Furthermore, the absence of strong WHO support could exacerbate existing disparities in healthcare access across the Caribbean. “Small island nations already face challenges in acquiring medical supplies, equipment, and expertise. The U.S. withdrawal could widen these gaps, leaving the most vulnerable populations even further behind,” Dr. E noted.

The Call to Action

Dr. E urged Caribbean leaders and the global community to rally around the WHO and strengthen their commitment to public health. “This is a wake-up call for our region to advocate for health equity and work together to ensure that the Caribbean’s voice is heard on the global stage,” he said.

He also emphasized the importance of public education and regional collaboration. “We must empower our people with knowledge and strengthen partnerships between Caribbean nations. By pooling resources and expertise, we can build resilience and reduce our dependence on external entities.”

Hope for the Future

While the situation is concerning, Dr. E remains optimistic. “The Caribbean has always been a region of strength and ingenuity. By focusing on education, prevention, and collaboration, we can navigate these challenges and protect the health of our people,” he concluded.

As the world watches the evolving dynamics of global health, Dr. E calls on individuals, governments, and organizations to recognize the interconnectedness of health and the urgent need for unity. “Health has no borders, and neither should our commitment to protecting it,” he said.

  1. WHO caused all the vaccine injuries? WHO manipulated the media? WHO changed the definition of medical terminologies to suit their culling agenda? WHO? We can do bad all by ourselves.

What’s the difference between vaccinated vs immunized? What could be the result of using these terminologies incorrectly? THINK ABOUT IT

  2. Sadly Dr Eldean Eudelle, the World Health Organisation under the misguidance of Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has made a rod for his and the WHO’S medical back.

Since their disastrous worldwide push of the Covid-19 so-called vaccines, hardly anyone has any trust in this duplicitous organisation anymore.

A real shame though, because when it became abundantly clear that the Moderna; Pfizer; and especially the AstraZeneca vaccines were causing severe harm (and in many cases around the globe, death), the WHO had a great opportunity to investigate and do something to curtail – or halt – these dangerous mRNA vaccines; but stood by and did absolutely NOTHING. Fact!

There is definitely a place for honest health organisations, but the world needs a much needed reputable one.

What say you Dr Eldean Eudelle?

Have you got the courage to respond? Or are you just another – ten-ah-penny – “paid-up” medical shill?

  3. Very dissappointing to read comments regarding COVID-19 from individuals who are not medical professionals/scientists who know nothing about the art of becoming a good clinician. Frankly I suspect that that the individuals who are calling the young physician a medical shill are “blow hard” who read and misinterpret the science as it relates to the COVID -19 vaccine. It reminds me of the patient who came in and told me that he looked up his symptoms and he is quite sure that he has “goat”, I had to explain the pathophsiology of “gout” to him.

I was there when we had the wear PPE’s when we examined our patient’s, I was there when well over a 100 of my patients and colleagues died from COVID-19. In my practice I’ve yet to see any patient with life threatening complications from the COVID vaccine. What I’m seeing are patient’s who took the vaccine and then contrating COVID having less symptoms and shortened recovery time. The patient’s who now die from COVID are the one’s who are unwilling to take the vaccine.

Dr. Eudelle thank you for educating your people.

    • @AlexJ…. Please don’t waste your time trying to explain to persons who continuously seek ignorance. Many of them have made up their minds to continue to internalize their flawed understanding of vaccination. Even if you were to crack their skulls open and somehow imprint the science of vaccines on their brain, they would still live in denial. Many of these folks are suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect in which they overestimate their limited knowledge and competence, and it causes them to think they know more than they actually do.

The real tragedy here is that many of the folks who are now speaking against vaccination have generally been fully vaccinated against most deadly diseases, but they are pushing an agenda that will cause havoc to be unleashed on the world in the next 20 to 30 years. We are simply too comfortable because we have not seen the deadly effects of diseases like polio, smallpox, measles, mumps, rubella, and hepatitis in our lifetime. When these diseases start manifesting themselves again, many will sing a different song.

  4. @Alex J, I suggest that you read my third paragraph again (and take your time), when I RIGHTLY mentioned that the World Health Organisation had the opportunity to look into all the issues caused my the mRNA Covid-19 vaccines with:

Pericarditis; Myocarditis; blood clotting; strokes, and sudden deaths in young men and women.

Then like many other critical thinking people like myself (and those other practitioners whose voices were silenced), you would have thought why didn’t Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus raise major concerns – and saved lives-, when better qualified practitioners
than him were very concerned at the time?

But as we all know, money talks and bullsh#% walks … just like yourself!
    .

  5. @ Wash an’ Basin, the net is closing in on the perpetrators of the so-called Covid-19 vaccines (and never forget that the mRNA can distort and compromise our vital immune systems).

These purveyors of destruction are continually playing Whack-A-Mole to hide the dangers, but those doctors, scientists and virologist that were silenced 3-4 years ago, are now being listened to. At last!

So the “paid-up” naysayers can continue to hide the facts from the concerned public arena, but it’s just a matter of time until what really went wrong with these Covid-19 quaxines, and those involved will see serious jail time, unless they get a free pass and are pardoned like Dr Fauci …

Ask yourself why pardon a so-called innocent doctor?

Evil jokers the lot of you, but the world had awaken.

  6. Please, before you all go spout off about armchair specialists and conspiracy theorists, get off your behind from watching CNN and go read Pfizer’s FDA application (which the FDA wanted to take 80 years to release). EIGHT PAGES of side effects!! It was more effective at generating abortions than the abortion pill. It wasn’t even done properly according to well-established trial standards and guess what…when you got your shot it was still in TRIALS. The text book definition of EXPERIMENTAL! There were well known existing treatments which work just fine for many viruses including the one that SARS-COV2 was based on (By now we should know it was created in the lab built by now CEO of Moderna).

Africa, which largely refused the shots did just fine and now they don’t have to deal with: Sudden Adult Death Syndrome, A 10% reduction in birth rates (like Europe) and young people including athletes dropping dead in their prime from…heart failure.

Many of us still had (and still have) trust in doctors but when something doesn’t feel right you owe it to yourself to do your own research. If you want to contract out your thought processes to so-called experts then go ahead but leave me alone to use my God-given brain. I had COVID and got over it. I know people to this day that still have not gotten over the “vaccine”.

  7. Well said @Thank God, a true voice of reason and another critical thinker that queries the status quo of the boring and mind numbingly unelected elitists’ around the globe.

One day, the critical thinkers will make this world a much better place to live on.

Enjoy the rest of your day 🤜🏽🤛🏽

    • “queries the status quo” but you Brixtionian fraid to query the UPP STATUS QUO!!! you think Pringle and Gisele good for UPP?

  8. We need to rally around our Caricom bodies not WHO.
100,000 people is a miniscule number to these global organizations. If they really cared so much, the monies spent traveling up and down (COP this and COP that) would be used to better help people of our ethnicity to have more preventative care. Hundreds die in Africa each week. Haitian children need clean water. Deforestation is causing famine for some.
