WIOC to Increase Refundable Deposits on New LPG Cylinders from Feb. 1

7

The West Indies Oil Company Ltd. (WIOC) has announced an increase in the refundable deposit required for new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders, effective Feb. 1, 2026, citing higher inflation-related costs from suppliers.

In a public notice, WIOC said the adjustment is driven by increased manufacturing, procurement and shipping expenses. The company stressed that the price to refill LPG cylinders remains unchanged and that the increase applies only to new LPG cylinders purchased through authorized distributors or directly at WIOC’s Friars Hill Road facility.

  1. 😂. Affordable? Here comes the hikes folks.
    I warned they were coming.
On top of food price gouging, the cost of cooking that same food just gone up.

How Antiguan’s survive in this island as it is right now is beyond me.

Is this the same Antigua that GB was telling the diaspora to come home to?
You got to be kidding me.
My money wouldn’t last 1yr in Antigua..I would be broke like a dog and tempted to rob and tief like the rest of the scammers in Antigua.

With prices at the pump and cost of food, I’ll be at the beach every day living like a hermit. 😂.

I can fill up my gas tank which take E-85 or regular gas for less $35us GB, that same conversion wouldn’t even give me half a tank in Antigua.

Some claim it’s not your fault that price gouging and high cost of living is not your fault, but I ask, what the hell you have been doing as a leader for the past 12 years in office?

Well don’t answer that, because we all know the answer..looking out for your own interest, and getting you and you family rich.
But you don’t fool me, because there is more to come at the gas pumps, since now your Crook Maduro is being removed from Venezuela oil.

  2. With most people having gas tanks in their houses and close to their houses in antigua and barbuda. I wonder how these tanks stand up fire

  3. When you have a Charlatan as a leader you will eventually eat welks and shit conchs and it will get much, much worse before it gets better. A Charlatan doesn’t love anyone but himself and family, to redeem this country the Charlatan has to be sent packing, there is no other way

  4. Reprieve on one hand then tax on the next. How many people return those cylinders within say a year, two years, three years, five years?
Many people keep spare cylinders filled during the hurricane season as a precautionary measure. But your reprieve on sales tax may last 2 to six months.
We love you Gaston and your maturing. Keep sticking up with your fork stick. Damn this feels so good. Jam we harder!

  5. So they basically going to add all these taxes then sprinkle a minimum payment adjust just so we can afford to go to work and pay tax?
