St John’s Rural West MP Richard Lewis is pursuing legal action to obtain information regarding the sale of the Friar’s Hill Road property to Prime Minister Gaston Browne’s son.
Lewis alleges nepotism in the sale, which led to the property being rented to the Ministry of Housing and Lands for $1 per month.
He has requested meeting minutes from WIOC to determine Minister Maria Browne’s involvement.
WIOC’s CEO stated the company, registered privately, isn’t obliged to disclose such information.
Lewis has also filed freedom of information requests with other ministries and emphasizes the need for transparency to the public.
