Wilikies Resident Alleges Mistreatment by Police After Seeking Medical Attention
Myran Thomas, a 33-year-old resident of Wilikies, has come forward with allegations of mistreatment by police following an incident in which he sought medical attention.
Thomas recounted that on the day in question, he got a ride from his cousin to work but experienced discomfort in his neck, prompting him to visit a health center. However, upon arrival, he discovered that the facility was closed.
Shortly afterward, he was approached by police officers, who conducted an investigation but reportedly determined there was nothing of concern. Despite this, Thomas expressed frustration over how he was treated by the authorities.
“The way they handled the situation was disgusting,” he stated, describing the encounter as both distressing and unfair. “It happened so fast—within seconds.”
Thomas also noted that he has not had any prior legal issues and was shocked by the interaction. He emphasized his efforts to lead a positive life and was left shaken by the experience.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and there has been no official statement from law enforcement regarding Thomas’s claims.

The action by the police was excessive and unwarranted…And we wonder why the community refuses to work with the same to assist in crime solving…just gimme a break

Where are the human rights advocathis? This is police brutality, even if the young man had done something prior. The video is clear that there is nothing wrong on the young man part. He did not raise his hand he did not use curse word. And even if he did the police has no right to trip him and allowing him to fall on his back. His spinal cord could have damaged and with this crime rate going up the police is expecting citizens to work with them? Tarl can not happen. Jeffers what do you have to say about this?
Show the same level of commitment for the individuals in custody regarding the missing 9-year-old. It is essential that officers receive proper training in crime fighting and in how to interact with civilians. Some officers arrive on duty already angry and end up taking their frustrations out on civilians, rather than directing their efforts toward the actual perpetrators.

The video of this young man being accosted by the police officers is not very clear but it certainly shows aggression on the part of the officers. It did not seem as though the young man was putting up a struggle.
An investigation into these practices is called for.
