  1. I have nothing against non -nationals getting work in Antigua and Barbuda. However,I do believed that certain positions should be held by qualified Nationals of Antigua and Barbuda. This position,Commissioner of Police,Chief Immigration Officer,DPP,Head of Customs, should be held by qualified Antiguans and Barbudans only.Persons should not be placed into those positions just to carry out the biddings of the Politicians.

  2. Hiring folks with an advance degree in their field is great. I commend that part that I have been pushing for. Now, let us get some locals with the qualifications, so they can get the job.

I do feel happiness for this decision that seems like it was made on the merit. Advance degree holders can contribute significantly.

I commend that or those persons who have encourage the government to begin advancing the country of Antigua and Barbuda by hiring those with the exceptional ability/advance degree in their field to operate in their field.

  3. I agree 100% with @Beach Bum. Our leading positions should be held exclusively by born Antiguans and Barbudans. There are foreigners holding way to many positions here. Atley Rodney, Georges, Badu,Saunders and do on. I believe there are qualified Antiguans and Barbudans, but ALP needs puppets to hide their shenanigans. This has to change. Antigua and Barbuda is for Antiguans and Barbudans FIRST.

  4. @my way of helping, u r not helping
I think if a position is instituted, be sure to identify what are the requirements. So if my child plans to aspire they will do the necessary training. If a decision is made in midstream for the need for an additional degree, give the prospective successors the opportunity to achieve these.

  5. Our people usually have all the academic qualifications but will not be able to function under a government who is not honest with the financial resources of the country, I bet you Lionel Michael is able to implement a lot more in the BVI than he could have done at health center all his years, and even Apua it’s the same, the linesman are sent on courses and then can’t implement anything because of the superior being a square that is apathetical to push for any budget to make changes, so this CEO of the airport will be limited to the level and function of the prime minister who really call the shot.

  7. Give the CEO a break! My understanding is that she has been engaged to bring back our airport to ICAO standards, and establish a management team with a succession plan in place.
She is a professional and can do it!

  8. AIRPORT CEO’S _ FAST COME – FAST GO

As urged, ‘…Warm Welcome, MADAME CEO’ [Paragraph 8].

Still, it shall be said that:

‘…Where Smoke was seen billowing skyward,’ it shall ‘NOT’ be believed that ‘…FOOD’ was always ‘…COOKING.’

    NOW:

The ‘…PAPA BIRD INTERNATIONAL Airport CEO’S’ seemed to be ‘…Moving Faster’ than a ‘…Makeda’s Executive Jets,’ and certainly, much better than ‘…LIAT.’

Clearly, as fast as the ‘…CEO’S CAME,’ they are ‘…GONE:

    FACTS:

    (i) ‘…Stanley Smith ‘…CAME,’ and Gone’ [MAY 19, 2019]:

    (ii) …Euletta Francis ‘…Came,’ then she is ‘…GONE’ [November 13, 2023]:

(iii) …Avery Heny ‘…CAME,’ and he too, is ‘…GONE’ [November 19, 2023/2024]: and now

    (iv) …Wendy Francette-Williams’ has ‘…COME’ to ‘…STAY’ [August 1, 2024].

THE HARDER THEY COME, THE HARDER THEY FALL’ [Jimmy Cliff].

Interesting, ‘…Give back to Community…?’ What the hell…?’

    QUESTION

    ‘…Which one …Grays/Green…?’

    Nat Annada wud (Vernacular).

  9. I am appalled, disheartened and dismay to be vetted with this disheartened news; reminder in this transitional emancipation platitude of our Ancestral fortitude; and guile, to have defied enslavement from under England’s bastard’s tyrannical depravity, and, to claim this land of A 🇦🇬&B🇦🇬 ( The Beautiful Lands) Of Our Ancestral-roots; and claim to fame – without postulated degrees defining nothing of what to show for thier will to ascend. Thus, embedded in our collective previews to chose a leader, one from among us- emboldened to aspire to elevate us to all relevance of globalization – none to soon to neglect: except for the trident call for governance of the people by the people; that dose not transgress their will.
Now, how is it that a retrospective mindset sets in and, lend itself to covertly deny the transient trajectory of the people, where anything good in A🇦🇬&B🇦🇬 is too good for or, from the masses of the populace, and denies the people of their Patrimony, when post of authority; that is sensitive relevance for our society’s forward trajectory; is a pawned off to foreigner posing with quasi degrees, and no common sense- as if no one teaches their teachers – but the quasi leader and, his goons squad, leading with abject condescension for the intellectual acumen of the populace. Foreigners without allegiance are embedded in all our esteemed ventures – from Agriculture, Police, Sea Port, Aviation, Higher Ed, and too many other entities of our social societal structures rendering to inform the dictate of a state of “Imperial Governance” design to stymie the aspirations of the masses in convenience of congenital servitude as collateral currency; gained from intellectual poverty. But a so e go: Ask G.B about Elabango. A Lang time dem subben a happen. Dem say a wan sell out fram d tap.

  10. Inquiring minds want to know why every single top position in Antigua must be headed by non generational Antiguan. I’m sick of this rubbish the people must remove these outsiders and handle our own affairs. When these people are done the mess up everything they have their country to go back to and we are stuck. Many years ago an Antiguan went to Jamaica and they didn’t like the fact an Antiguan was having a top job and guess what happened to him he came back to Antigua in a body bag. Everyone comes here and certain jobs should be held by our own. If she’s so great why her country is not giving her a top position?

  11. @shAron
    T&t export talent
Anu talent is forced under a bushel cause ppl on hiring committees/boards don’t want to see other ppl children who went to primary school with their duncy head children succeed

  12. Sharon….. you won the prize for the best comment so far; especially for your closing question. We would love to see the answers.

  13. Remember you had an Antiguan CEO who brought the airport down to its lowest. They never passed a TSA evaluation under the ANTIGUAN CEO. Airport grading went down from a grade 1 to a grade 4. Thank God for your ANTIGUAN CEO. Give the woman a break. Stanley Smith the aJamaican was the best. You remember how the airport staff stood up for Stanley Smith? While no one felt sorry for the Antiguan Euletta Francis. Airport staff knows best.
