When will the government put its foot down on this issue? People keep trying to claim the beach as their property and relegate locals to using pathways through bush and garbage in some instances to get to the beaches. Front entrance for X and back entrance for locals. It is disgusting now.
Where is the government designated public access to the beach? Do you know for a fact that the government designated public access to that beach is through Marina Bay private property? You need to check that before you run your mouth about people blocking access. They are only blocking access if the government designated public access is over their private land and they have blocked that access.
It’s important to protect the beauty and integrity of Dickenson Bay Beach, but denying locals vehicle access seems like a step in the wrong direction. While promoting tourism is vital, residents should not be excluded from enjoying their own public spaces. There needs to be a better balance between accommodating visitors and ensuring that locals can access the beaches they love without undue restrictions. More public consultation and clearer policies are needed before implementing such measures.
It would be helpful to understand the reasoning behind these restrictions—are they related to safety, environmental protection, or private development? Transparency would go a long way in calming public concern.
Investors will always have their way when it comes to development. Administrations just pay lip service when it comes to these things they do not give a fig about the local man, they only play nice when they are after your vote at election time because they know you all will buy their cow manure
Additional development at Corbison Point has been discussed for at least 10 years now, maybe more. More than one developer had created plans for 20-24 lots on either side of the peninsula and now it looks like it is finally moving forward.
This type of [action] by developers have being allowed to go forward by the various Ruling Arms, of our government, since, the 1950’s when the Tourism Industry was in its budding stages.
Mill Reef Club set the precedent and to this day, almost 70 years it’s still so.
Curtain Bluff built a Berlin style wall, so as not to look at the people of Old Road. They have even dumped tons of rocks to separate the beach.
Basically, all these poliTRICKtans 🐲👺and Chameleons 🦎🤡do is dance in front of these developers like a #Disco_Dumplin, then kick the issue and the people forward with steel toe boots on their necks!
Another reason why, this BEACH ACCESS ISSUE will keep being kicked forward with no resolution is, many local Antiguans own property/land next to the shoreline, and many are not willing to give up this privilege, since, it’s money in the bank; so, NO ACTION from the poliTRICKtans.
Is it a fact, that a prominent Serian Family with interest(s) on several of the [private] islands which are located in our waters is taking similar action’s on National Parks property?
