On this occasion the spotlight was on the graduands waiting expectantly for the reward of their labours which, according to young Kadeem Charles, Valedictorian, had been intense and grueling during their period of study at the University. They would hardly be interested in listening to an old professor recounting his days at University in Canada many, many, many moons ago! He doesn’t possess the most engaging voice for the role he was given and at times seemed to have been talking to himself!

3. @ Faithful National # 1 I must disagree with you about Professor Henry not giving his time to a Marxist community, whatever is meant by that. Professor Henry is a scholar who taught at the Ivy League Brown University in Rhode Island. Would you have preferred if he stayed in Antigua and taught at the Antigua Grammar School or the Otto’s Comprehensive School? Henry has written extensively about CLR James and is fully grounded in marxist philosophy and political economy. By living in the most capitalist country of America does not reduce or challenge his critique of the present state of capitalism and the changing global order. He never once used the word marxism in his speech but it was classic marxian analysis that was absolutely compelling. His charge to the graduands is that they are living in a fast changing global environment and the baton is now passed to them to ensure that Caribbean societies survive the challenges of the evolving transitions in human history.

We are too semiliterate and view our civics and independence as emotionalism and indentity interventionism by political scoundrel that colonial authority devolved upon to continue the neocolinial agenda, selling off our lands and tax incentives to help white monopoly capital domination in an extractive economy.
   Barbuda is an example where a black government used the very police and military personnel to threaten even babies in Barbuda at gun point to kill them if they venture in the buffer zone area where white people alone can walk or swim in god sea water as we just say, and that’s specified by Gaston brown alone, because all his political colleagues are not in agreement with that even though they are induced with largesse by these white capitalist mafias from south Africa Anglo-Saxon land thieves, that are procuring new lands because of the power dynamic shift in south Africa who passed a bill in parliament for land expropriation without compensation to redress apartheid era injustice, they flock to Barbuda now under Gaston brown administration to get reparations.
