ABLP Ratifies Candidates for Next General Election at National Convention
The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party on Sunday ratified its full slate of candidates for the next general election during its national convention at the People’s Place on Lady Nugent Avenue.
The announcement was delivered by General Secretary Shenella Govia, who confirmed that the party’s Central Executive had approved the candidates and caretakers ahead of the vote by delegates.
“The Central Executive further resolves that the candidates and caretakers for the constituencies who will represent the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party at the upcoming general elections… shall be as follows,” Govia told party members as she read the list.
Delegates at the convention formally endorsed the slate, with the resolution carried unanimously, solidifying the party’s lineup for the impending election.
Among the candidates ratified were Kendra Beazer for Barbuda, Dr. Philmore Benjamin for St Mary’s North, Michael Joseph for St John’s Rural West, Dwayne George for St Mary’s South, Randy Baltimore for St Philip North, and Gaston Browne for St John’s City West.
The list also includes several sitting ministers and party figures, including E.P. Chet Greene in St Paul, Daryll Matthew in St John’s Rural South, Maria Browne in St John’s Rural East, and Charles Fernandez in St John’s Rural North.
The ratification marks a key step in the ABLP’s election preparations as the party moves to mobilise support across constituencies ahead of the general election on April 30.

Omg!!
Too many red devils 😈 😡
UPP is gaining a bit of momentum and could win a few seats. These are the possible seats from the highest to the lowest.
1- Jamal Pringle
2- Kelvin Shugy Simon
3- Richards Lewis
4- Jonathan Joseph
5- Harold Lovell
Antiguans wants to see a better and more organized opposition party. I have heard some of my friends saying that they would like both Pringle and Lovell to lose. This would allow for the UPP to rebuild with new leadership.
WE REDDY!!!!
when is the UPP’s convention?
Why are they concerned about UPP Convention when ABLP has not held a convention since Gaston Browne became Prime Minister.
Why are you so concerned about ÙPP Convention when this is the 1st convention that the ABLP has held since Gaston Brown became Prime Minister.
