WALKING IN THEIR SHOES: PM Spends Hours Working Alongside Post Office Staff

22

Prime Minister Gaston Browne reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring a safe and comfortable working environment for postal workers after spending several hours at the General Post Office.

His visit to the Lower High Street facility fulfilled a promise made to staff during a recent meeting where they raised concerns about longstanding issues that had led to industrial action.

Browne, who has ministerial responsibility for the Post Office, stated that steps have already been taken to address these concerns, and staff expressed their appreciation for his efforts.

  1. Walking in gang members shoes, also walking in garbage collector’s shoes, then walking in the shoes of the turkey πŸ¦ƒ and ham distributors around Christmas time; and now walking in Post office workers shoes.

    Whatever next?

Walking in the shoes of the self-enriched? 😁

  2. SERVANT Leadership at its best! who GOD BLESS, nobody can curse!! Big up Hon. Gaston A. Browne

    #WorldClassLeadership

  3. Brixtonian. Your comments reflect why you and your UPP are disintegrating. You have no empathy. All you can do is criticize and tear down. Gaston Browne is displaying leadership, the type of which we have not seen since VC Bird. You cannot sit in an office and appreciate some of these problems that exist. Lead Gaston Lead. There will never be another like you for another 100 years.

  4. Remember in Luke 12:48 it says:

“To whom much is given, much will be required”

@ JCFJW, can you honestly with hand on heart say that Prime Minister Gaston Browne lives up to the above Biblical scripture?

  5. I am fully aware that Gaston Browne is the Prime Minister. Why is it he has to be involved in all things. There has to be a Manager of the Post Office in Antigua. Why the Manager, could not have a meeting with Gaston and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. There is no wonder the country looks like crap. For persons are being paid and doing nothing in my opinion.

  6. LMAO 🀣 🀣 🀣 🀣 🀣 🀣 🀣 🀣 🀣 🀣 🀣. If it’s one thing me can say bout Uncle Gassy is he know how to make his fan club cry and seeve on the internet πŸ˜„ 🀣 πŸ˜€ πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚. 7. Gaston Browne:Why do all things have to come the edge of a cliff. Before you would do something about it.You have a Cabinet that meets every week. What the hell do you people discuss? Last week the Teachers had to sit in.To get what is owed to them from 2019.Now Post Office workers were on outside. They are working half days. Are you deliberately letting things go to THE DUMP.Then you swoop in and get publicity for cleaning up your own mess, created by you.Is that a sign of an attention seeker,NARCISSIST.

  8. @ Wharf Rat
You hit the nail on the head.
He cannot keep this up. Soon even he will realize that we are paying people to do the work and he is elbowing them out of the way trying to upstage them by doing their job with the press recording his every move, yet they are still getting their pay.

What will happen when he gets bored with that strategy?

  9. A Prime Minister like no other. This man is the really in a class by himself. He meet with whom ever and where ever. And he faces the mischief makers on their turf. What more can you ask for. Next he will go to sit with teachers in the class and nurses in the hospital. Getting first hand the problems they complain about. If you then feel like you still should strike, it simply means you are an obstructionist.
Way to go World Boss. Taking the bull by the horn and tame it.

  10. I anticipate a snap election. He’s suddenly involved in everything that he has deliberately messed up and then get recognition for pretending to correct them. His next stops will be The Ministry of Aviation and ONDCP. These two entities have been working four-hour days from since whenever, citing mold infested premises. Asot is going to re-enter the fold to team up with Mansoor and the rest of the flip-flops to overthrow him. A simple vote of no confidence will do.

    • wrong anticipation! Everyone anticipates MORE PEOPLE LEAVING UPP!!!!!

      stay tuned……

  11. Wharf Rat and Dabbler. He has to come out and do things because all of his Ministers want to be popular. Do you ever hear any of them speak on any national issue except in Parliament? Gaston is not stopping them but they are in the kitchen but do not want to take the heat. Has any Minister or Senator said anything publicly about the crime situation except for Senators O’Neal and Shoul who have radio programme’s. So the PM does not have a choice. He needs a bigger majority so that he can fire a couple of them. And by the way some nobody wants to know why he had to go Post Office. Well, if you can read he is the Minister responsible for the Post Office and he was asked by the workers to go and experience their work conditions. This is leadership.

  12. This man is incorrigible. Consorting with gangs, now the botox, forced, mannequin like ,what passes for smile, with the post office workers who have been doing this for years. People have died inhailing the mold( my mail lady told me this) and now he wants to appear relevant?
Why not comfort the hundreds who have lost loved ones to turbo cancers, strokes, blood clots, brain aneurysms and more, because of the poisons you mandated on them, while you’re at it.
Then pay civil servants their long overdue back pay. Must they strike to achieve this? Prior to elections you made big talks.
@Brixtonian, why waste time with these Labourites? They are unconscionable and so intent on supporting this idiot, nothing will register.
The clown show moves on. Let’s see who’s next? Maybe Fiennes or Boys Training School.

    • Watching@ you sound SPITEFUL, HATEFUL and JEALOUS. u need a cleansing to rid u of all that ENVY and PRIDE!

  13. @ Watching, I never thought about Gaston Browne going to visit those with mRNA vaccine injuries as well.

Injuries include: Bells palsy (facial paralysis); Myocarditis; Pericarditis (heart muscle & tissue damage); menstrual irregularities: strokes and blood clots turbo cancers; and families who lost loved ones to Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) to name just a few.

If Gaston Browne really cared (because he did introduce the vaccine mandates), why doesn’t he visit the above as well.

GOOD POINT MADE @ WATCHING πŸ€œπŸ½πŸ€›πŸ½

  14. He should have told Dwayne George he was going down there so that Dwayne George would not have to seek audience with the Post Master General. The outcome would have been different for his pal.

  15. Do we need Post Office?
Depending where you live, the mail is never delivered so we have to use the P. O. Box.
Except a few staff, most of them do not want to put the registered mail in the tracking system. What are they afraid of? It seems to me that lot of ladies like to just sit down
and do nothing. For important mail, I always use Fedex and never use Post Office.
Why not privatise the Post Office in Antigua?

  16. @P.O.Lady September 9, 2024 At 11:56 pm
Good points to consider. I am of the believe that the manner in which we operate a post office is long outdated. Even local mail I cannot receive on time. And I have a P.O. Box right there. My insurance renewal notice is put in my box months after I have gone in and paid my renewal. And other mail are having the same delays.
