Trevor Walker has formally launched his election campaign, reaffirming his commitment to protecting the island’s rights, heritage and autonomy while urging residents to back the Barbuda People’s Movement at the polls.
In a statement shared this week, Walker described his candidacy as rooted in “trust” and “service,” pointing to what he called a longstanding record of standing with the people of Barbuda during challenging times.
“As I formally launch this campaign, I renew my heartfelt commitment to the constituents of Barbuda — a people whose strength, resilience, and unity have always defined this island’s character,” Walker said.
He added that his tenure has been guided by accountability and advocacy, particularly on issues affecting land rights and community decision-making.
“I have stood alongside the Barbudan community through its most difficult moments. My record reflects a consistent dedication to accountability, to protecting Barbudan rights, and to ensuring that the island’s people remain at the centre of every decision made on their behalf,” he said.
Walker also drew a contrast with unnamed political opponents, stating that his leadership has remained consistent despite pressures.
“While others have compromised their integrity for personal gain, my unwavering commitment has helped preserve the rights, heritage, and livelihoods that generations of Barbudans have worked to build,” he said.
With election day approaching, Walker called on voters to support what he described as stable and independent representation in Parliament.
“As election day draws near, I call upon every constituent to cast a vote that reflects those same values — one that safeguards Barbuda’s cultural legacy, secures a strong and independent voice in Parliament, and places trust in leadership that has never wavered,” he said.
He urged residents to vote for the Barbuda People’s Movement, describing it as “a party that stands, unequivocally, for the people of Barbuda.”

Please note that he didn’t attack the person who will be his opponent.
No need.
The opponent saw a way to a means and chose it.
He discussed his plans with Walker.
There will be no character assassinations in Barbuda.
Both are from the BPM.
Every Barbudan candidate has been one termed.
They are ALL except Arthur Nibbs of the same mindset.
We will take turn to collect our box hand.
I will not be surprised if in the next elections after this one that Trevor Walker becomes the labour party’s candidate while a member of the BPM takes over.
Head makes brains and brains make books.
Trevor Walker said the judge was eager to give his decision regarding the Barbuda land issue because it was of primary interest to Barbudans. Thinking that meant he would have won…does anyone remember what the ruling was?
Trevor “BROWN PAPERBAG” Walker don’t give 2 shit about Barbudans. He have his house and land in ROYAL GARDENS ANTIGUA but don’t want Barbudans to pay $1.00 to OWN their own land. A wicked son of a gun he is! He owns the only gas station in Barbuda. Time for him to get some competition.
Let’s Goooooooo KENDRA BEAZER 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
The only problem I have with black leadership is that they are mentally lethargic, and just sit on their minds and wait for colonial power to devolve to them then act like the same white man ruling the black people, they say all kept the black people in their place where the colonial had us, the barbudans should have spread out and take the beach front lands and build their homes and boutique hotels aided by finance from the council, and that would have stop Gaston from fighting them and even in the bird family era from trying to take their lands and enrich themselves personally, Antigua hospital is run down and so too is government offices and infrastructure, and Gaston can’t show where the monies are for passport or land sale in barbuda or the 40% tax on license.
A Barbuda communal land system would have been great for Antigua so we could have barbudans privilege.
