Official Apology Statement‼️

We would like to sincerely apologize for the inappropriate songs performed during our recent set at the Antigua and Barbuda Children’s Carnival. We understand that this was a family-friendly occasion, and it was never our intention to cause discomfort or offend anyone in attendance—especially the children and their families.

In hindsight, we recognize that our song choices were not suitable for the audience, and we deeply regret the oversight. We take full responsibility and are committed to ensuring this does not happen again.

Moving forward, we will be more mindful and respectful of the setting, audience, and expectations for every event we’re invited to. We appreciate the opportunity to perform and the support we’ve received, and we hope to rebuild the trust of the community.

  1. It is good to hear young persons taking responsibility for their inappropriate actions when it is brought to their attention. I would hope that this is meant in sincerity.
It would be a good idea to present their playlist to the organisers of any future shows. This does two things. Firstly it ensures that the organizers are aware and in sync with the content of their performance and would be able to give guidance where needed.
Secondly, it provides the band with plausible deniability of responsibility if offense is taken at the content of their performance.
The first line of responsibility is for the band to determine the audience they are playing to and therefore what is appropriate or not and the second line of responsibility falls on the promoter to vet the content and make suggestions for changes depending on their audience.

  2. Chupes I can bet any money that those who was “outrage” either don’t have any child/children or if they do they have them listening to all that ratched dancehall and rap music and watching those tik tok influencers just give me a break🙄

  3. Cudos to the young men for their apology. Bash me if you want to, two wrongs don’t make it right, but how about the half naked women who have been exposing themselves with their calous behaviour? Di they have children? ARE CHILDREN LOOKING ON? YOUNG LADIES TAKE PRIDE IN YOURSELVES. ITS A DISGRACE.

  4. “WE TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND ARE COMMITTED TO ENSURING THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN”.

That is a start; however, the band should have been conscious, even before the day as to the audience they would have been playing too but that how it is in Antigua today.

I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT ‘THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY’ REST ONLY WITH THE BAND.

In my opinion, the Festival Office shares a BIG portion of the blame here.

Somebody had to contract the band and I am amazed that a discussion was note held with the band sensitizing them to the product that was being produced and the expectation from them.

Was this a ‘wash you foot and come’ engagement?

I heard the lewd songs, even from hi-fi systems on the Children’s Carnival Day and the group that I was with just looked at each other and shook our heads.

This is what we have come to and sadly it is accepted by the wider community.
