THE DAILY OBSERVER- The sentencing hearing for a man convicted of robbing three elderly people at Mill Reef Club two years ago will take place on Monday.

Rickardo Bussawan was expected to be sentenced yesterday. However, due the unavailability of his lawyer, Wendel Alexander, the proceeding was postponed.

The Villa man pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated robbery, which occurred on April 6, 2022 at the property of James and Elizabeth Lewis, both in their 70s, while they were entertaining a friend.

Bussawan, along with two other men, Delon Wills and Marlon Carr, are alleged to have tied up and robbed the three victims, relieving them of a number of valuables and money.

Reports are that around 10 pm the victims were conversing under a cabana by the pool when they were reportedly accosted by three masked men who showed up wearing gloves and armed with knives.

During the robbery at the exclusive east coast property, the robbers allegedly grabbed the victims from behind and tied their hands and mouths with duct tape.

The thieves reportedly stole a black-handled chef knife, iPhones, iPods, jewelry valued at US $10,000, a curling iron and over US$1,100 in cash.

Wills has pleaded not guilty to the charges, while Carr is yet to enter a plea.
