The government will waive all duties and taxes on building materials and systems needed to renovate properties in St. John’s, Prime Minister Gaston Browne said, as officials move to encourage voluntary upgrades before turning to enforcement measures to address deteriorating buildings in the capital.

  1. This incentive should be so more meaningfully effective, as to be extended to impact on all of the peoples of Antigua 🇦🇬 Barbuda who are in such dire need; with inclusiveness island wide. Please, don’t just help the few, at the expense of the many. Together we aspire -Together we achieve.

  2. Refuse to act? People living hand to mouth (if you know what that is) and you’re using the words refuse to act? Step in how? To help them or help yourself to their property?

  3. I support any move to revive, restore and rejuvenate St. John’s. The recent shameful description of the City by a tourist really struck me hard. In addition to road, gutter and sidewalk repairs, we need to see to the repairs of all of the buildings and repaint them in a structured and organized format using bright Caribbean colours.
