In my opinion, Not Every Situation calls for a harsh punishment.

I was once a teacher, and it ain’t easy. Some students come to school, they are very disruptive. You yahoo to them trying to let them ree that school is a place for learning, and they’re not interested.

That disruptive child throws off your lesson and cheat the other students.

We don’t know what took place here. For all we know, the student could had been asked to leave, and they chose not to follow the instruction, and the teacher lost it

So long as the child is not abused, you give them a lash. What is very damming, is the child decide he going raise his hand to fight with the teacher

In my school days we had a teacher, very nice guy, but on day one he made it clear that if you want to play “MAN”, prepare to get what man get.

I firmly believe that the student, should never raise a hand at any adult. You show that adult the respect of not graduating a hand, and reorder the matter to the school admin

two wrongs don’t make a right. even if the child is wrong the teacher nuh hab no right to deal with anybody child or children like that. I’m pretty sure there is a procedure for dealing with unruly children the teacher should have went to the office and turn the matter over to the principal or deputy.
1 listen to the aggression in his voice toward the student, he didn’t speak with authority he spoke with vengeance.
2 they had an audience so he wanted to show his horns, his ego was already damaged by the student’s deviant behavior and the fact that the others were laughing
3 he initiated a confrontation after the child tried to walk away, where as he could have just leave for the office same time

whatever the issue was the child was disobedient and needed to be dealt with, but not abused. I do not believe in punishing my children while I’m in a rage or in the heat of the moment and I don’t believe any adult should deal with a child under those circumstances either because excessive force will be used with some of us might end up regretting after the fact of realizing that we did nothing but abused the child.
so to all of u who think he deserved it you are nothing but child abusers the teacher was dead wrong #1 FACT BEING ITS NOT HIS CHILD.
to you teachers out there that’s talking stop acting like the student’s are your peers on a regular day to day basis they won’t take you serious when the time comes

wait!!!! although the video has audio u are still assuming and turning the story how u want???? parents take not see he said he was a teacher and exactly what he’s doing here sometimes we must listen to our children and hear from other STUDENTS who were present as to what happened. we all went to school and we know how some of these teachers can be do not crucify your children just because the teacher say.
in this video the teacher told the child to put back something and he didn’t he chose to walk away and the teacher pushed him, they got into an altercation where the teacher slapped him, the child did nor fire one blow not a single one but look at what this man wrote chupz
as a former teacher you need to go back to kindergarten because reading is taught via pictures first and this video doesn’t only have motion pics it has audio

Most teachers wouldn’t hit a young man just so. This one didn’t either. He hit the young man because he pulled up a green onion mistaking it for grass. The child tried to walk away to seek assistance from the Principal and the good teacher tried to prevent him from leaving. In THIS instance the child did NOT deserve this type of “punishment”.

Its because you soft why this happened to your son miss, it couldnt be my child because id hunt him like white animal.

Teachers simply dial 911, tell them you have an emergency and let the law remove those disruptive students. You’re a teacher not a law enforcement officer.

Ok, let me explain what happened because I am a witness and I was right there when it started. The teacher told the student “Pull the weed out of the bank but don’t pull out the onion”, the young man had already pulled out the onion when a girl from his class told him that it was the wrong one and the teacher spun around and started roughing up the child on his hand, then when he realized the teacher was getting violent he proceeded to walk away to go to the office, the teacher was constantly telling him to plant back the onion and even grabbed the child from the back of his neck and pushed him to the floor and that’s when the young man decided to defend himself while the teacher starts beating him and choking him. As big people even if the young man was being rude and disrespectful the teacher had no right to put his hands on a child. So in all actions, the teacher was wrong and needs to be dealt with accordingly.

I believe that teacher could have dealth with that child better and because of the reaction to the child he retaliate so both teacher and students need counseling this could have bin avoided a soft answer turn away wrath but grievous words stirs up anger and this is what happen love is a weapon to deal with anyone and situation this should of Handel better than this I pray both sides realize they were both wrong I pray they come to realize this is the plan of the enemy I pray teacher and student find peace

Is this even in Antigua??? These news portals sicken me. Recently the carried a story, video and all, about a teacher being disrespected by MOE officials for seeking some sort of clarification where her job was concerned only to be verbally abused by the authorities. Naturally all the lub-bachanal cockroacked crawled out of every crevice to lambast Ministry officials. It was later revealed by an intelligent subscriber that the incident did NOT take place in Antigua!!! It allegedly took place in St Vincent or some where im the Windward Islands! To date, as far as I am aware, there has never been a retraction and apology for this! Shame!

Why parents want to send their no manner disrespectful children to school…i had children going school to and i never had those reports coming from the teachers i remember collecting one of my daughter’s report and the teacher say like one report she given and nothing to say and I didn’t have bad reports either with the other 2 one time i was called at school and i discipline her right there and never another report ….that’s why so much crimes around the country because the children is undisciplined….i see the students talking to teachers any how i am not a teacher and i get upset train your children and never correct the adult infront of the children….i was a young mother to and i never allowed that to happen to talk about the teacher badly in front of the child even if angry put boundaries between a child and adult wake up parents what kinda children you raising 😢
