Antigua and Barbuda is a Caribbean country made up of two, namesake islands and several smaller ones.
Hurricane Irma damaged or destroyed almost every structure in Barbuda in 2017. The island’s entire population evacuated to neighboring Antigua.
The United Nations, private donors and the government of China decided to step in and rebuild the island. As a result, residents have returned.
