Prime Minister Gaston Browne has praised law enforcement and defence personnel for ensuring a safe and orderly J’Ouvert.
In a social media post, Browne commended Police Commissioner Everton Jeffers and ABDF Brigadier Benjamin for their leadership during the festivities.
“There was visible presence of police and defence force officers in protection of revellers during J’Ouvert and generally for the whole carnival season,” he wrote.
Their efforts, he added, helped maintain order and security during one of the most energetic events on the national calendar

We need to see this all the time. Not just to protect the sinners. We need it all the time
Atleast we know it’s a safe carnival. Atleast a bit. No stabbing and dem tings
Carnival is usually a time of chaos if not cautioned. It’s good to hear about the level of safety that was implemented and achieved during this energised time.
Good job. Let’s keep the rest of it that way
Out in their large numbers. Kudos to them. They worked really hard for their money. Good work powpow
Well highlighted Rika. Our Prime Minister must now show, prioritise and protect the law abiding citizens as well – not just for carnival and the Tourism industry.
Policing the country isn’t a part-time enterprise.
WE NEED PROTECTION AS WELL …
