Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle joined protesters outside the Ministry of Works on Tuesday, demanding accountability and an independent investigation into what he described as a “$15 million vehicle-gate scandal.”

Pringle, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for All Saints East and St. Luke, accused Prime Minister Gaston Browne of misleading the public and called for the Works Minister to step aside pending an inquiry.

“The public needs to know and not listen to the words of the prime minister who would have lied to us from the inception,” Pringle said. “You cannot be at the helm of the ministry and there’s a $15 million scandal within your ministry and you don’t know about it.”

He said the opposition has written to several offices — including the Cabinet, the Governor-General, and the Ecclesiastical Commission — requesting an independent probe into the alleged misuse of funds linked to vehicle imports and transfers within the Ministry of Works.

Pringle cited the prime minister’s past remarks about corruption and the movement of senior officials in the ministry, saying the government’s response has been inconsistent. He also expressed skepticism over digital evidence or statements circulated publicly, warning that “with the advent of AI, we cannot take his words or what it is they’re going to put out publicly because you can manipulate so many things.”

The opposition leader said the United Progressive Party plans to escalate its protest action, beginning with a nationwide motorcade on Sunday, November 9, to “raise awareness and involve the public.”

“We will continue to raise the awareness to the people of Antigua and Barbuda because this is only the beginning,” Pringle said. “No longer are we going to have things swept under the carpet.”

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has responded to today’s protest.

  1. You guys not tired of “pappyshowing” yourselves?? Life goes on, the country ah run right. Demonstrations ( if that term can be applied), motorcades, chat, chat, chat and more chat. The boring modus operandi of the gay desperados! Why not get the main donor of their campaign funds to follow Harney’s lead and reimburse taxpayers for the hundreds of millions allegedly stolen from customs? Better yet, get its lucrative company to pay for this independent investigation being demanded by this comical band of gay desperados.
    Gway, bwoy!

  2. Pringle joined?????
    What do you mean?
Laborats are always seeking to mislead.
    Pringle did not join.
He was a part of the planning and the lead man.
A leader can’t join something that he organized.
    Others joined him.
LaboRATs, stop trying to give a false narrative.
Further, Pixie didn’t blow any whistle.
The walls were caving in on her.
    She had no choice.
She was nose deep into the corruption.
    She had intimate knowledge.
How could $15 million slide away under the hands of the minister of finance?
He claims to have been a banker.
Is that what happened that lead to the disappearance of Swiss American????
    Need i say more…………

  3. Pringle scared to accept the invitation to COP in Brazil. Watta ting! Wan real PAPPYSHOW of a “leader” he be. No wonder so much people leave UPP and those that stay trying to undermine him and Gisele.

  4. Did baby mama join the picket too?? 😆 🤣

  5. “mercyyyy LOOK A PEOPLE!!! What a “MASSIVE CROWD”

Goes to show that the SENSIBLE people of Antigua and Barbuda do not believe UPP lies or have time to waste with UPP CLOWN SHOW!

Whatever message they are selling, the people are NOT buying it. You will find more people buying bananas from a vendor than the amount of people at that picket.
