Member of Parliament (MP) Algernon Serpent Watts, representing St. George, has demanded immediate action in response to distressing images circulating on social media.

The photographs, depicting sick patients forced to sleep on the hospital floor, have ignited widespread outrage and renewed scrutiny over the quality of healthcare services in the region.

Speaking candidly members of the public in a Facebook video, Watts disclosed his deliberate decision to share the viral images with his cousin, Devon Joseph, with the intention of bringing attention to the dire situation. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATS APP GROUP

He expressed disappointment that despite his efforts, the conditions at the hospital have not improved, as evidenced by the receipt of additional distressing images just moments before his address.

Describing the newly received visuals, Watts recounted witnessing yet another patient receiving medical treatment while lying on the floor of the emergency room.

His frustration and anger were palpable as he emphasized the urgency of addressing the systemic issues plaguing the healthcare system, particularly at the General Hospital.

Watts minced no words in condemning the apparent indifference of those tasked with overseeing healthcare services, challenging government officials to prioritize the well-being of constituents over political considerations. He underscored the moral imperative of swiftly addressing the deficiencies in patient care and ensuring that residents receive dignified and adequate treatment.

Expressing his deep-seated revulsion and determination to enact change, Watts reiterated his commitment to holding accountable those responsible for overseeing healthcare delivery. He urged both immediate intervention to rectify the current crisis and long-term reforms to prevent such egregious lapses from occurring in the future. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATS APP GROUP

As public outcry mounts and pressure intensifies on government officials to take decisive action, the spotlight remains firmly fixed on the minister for Health.

Whether the concerns raised by MP Watts and echoed by concerned citizens will translate into meaningful reforms remains to be seen.

However, today the Ministry of health published a statement informing the public of the expansion of the emergency room.

  2. Yet another ABLP Minister Missing In Action (MIA).

The “dye-head” posse members aren’t doing what they were elected to do. They are not fighting our corner or fit for purpose.

MAYBE A CHANGE OF DYE MIGHT HELP MOLWYN
    … 😣

  3. Not saying what’s in the picture is a good situation or not. But every story has many sides not just two. The man could have decided that he didn’t want to sit on the chair. Serpant you get the pictures not (fulwell) knowing the exact situation. And the individual who sent them pictures to you (fulwell) know that you would use it to defame the present administration. PILITICAL MILAGE. My God, why are you politicians being so petty and dirty. Get your facts right before running your mouth man.

    • @GG: IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO SAY.THEN JUST SHUT TO HECK UP. YOU COULD GO UP TO DEVIL’S BRIDGE AND JUMP INTO THE WATER AND SWIM ACROSS THE ATLANTIC. I REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE DEFENDING.

  4. There needs to be a proper accountability system in place at SLBMC so that our doctors & nurses can be accounted for, for the grevious things that are taking place throughout the entire hospital.

  5. I wish these UPP Politicians would stop this NONSENSE. Please check the facts first before you open your mouth. You Guys are NOT hurting Hon. Gaston Browne… You are hurting the Citizens of Antigua. Please STOP IT.

  6. @Gen.

You get a big fat laugher from me with your comment 🤣 😂.

    That’s all you get!

So does it matter who broke the news? The facts remains the same..your perception of the facts doesn’t actually change what is happening and has happened at this hospital.

People are suffering for Christ sake. That’s what your government should be working on fixing, instead of being on here dogging bullets. 🤣

Be proactive and stop being reactive for peace sake..smdh.

  7. @Gen can you kindly sthu. People are suffering the same f-ing ministers don’t if use our hospital. Wait times are crazy. No where to rest this is not a isolated incident you stupid retard. Boi me tired boy. Antigua poor people a bawl and suffer and you will defend it till you dead. Your a idiot!. RH me feel sorry for Antigua ppl our health care system is not up to par. I don’t blame the doctors I blame this system created by the government which does not work. You people will be the downfall of the future. Open your blasted eyes. This not politics it’s ppl f-ing lives idiot. NOTHING YOU SAY WILL QUELL THE ANGER OF THE PPL THAT GO THROUGH THESE HORRORS. NOTHING AND SOME YOU ALL CALL YOURSELVES CHRISTIAN PPL. ARE YOU THE KAY BOUT NOBODY. 🤬.

  8. Vacant chairs and one chooses to sleep on the floor? I’m calling Bull shyte. You UPP agitators & spin doctors need to get your fake patients to “sleep” in places where you can’t see empty chairs.
This is like the 4 billion dollars in the belly of a plane; FBI coming to arrest the PM; now fake sleeping people next to empty chairs. Keep coming up with lies and eventually no one will believe you.
Pathetic and desperate much UPP supporters and Politicians! ABLP FOREVER!

    • @ Lies and Rumors of Lies, GEN and GG

One and the same DUNCE elements that can’t even spell. Why don’t you go back to school and learn to read and write.
Sure you cannot even buy bread and water and begging like all the other USEFUL IDIOTS.

    • @lies
Sick people in pain don’t want any chair to sit up in. They need a bed to stretch out. If the man was provided with a bed, he wouldn’t have to be on the floor. Antigua is a sad place and people like you condone the nonsense going on.

  9. If you have been to Emtrthecy or taken a love one in, then you will have observed that Emergency is overloaded. Wait times for attention and tests stressed. The professionals do their best. Regretably, this is not unique to Antigua. Our Emergency Room needs more cubicles with stretcher beds, more bathroom facilities and faster access to reliable
    working test facilities.

  10. Let’s just post these inhumane, disturbing images for all the world to see. Molwyn Joseph is just one of the complete failures of this Gaston Browne led ALP administration. Doesn’t matter really which one you pick.
Instead of chastising Molwyn Joseph, Gaston Browne had him on his Rumshop trying to blame, deflect and rationalize his failure. The DAWG will never touch Molwyn people, because his claim to power hangs on by a thread. One shift, be it Pussy Salad or Molwyn Joseph, and the whole charade comes crashing down on the DaAWg’s head. His hold on power is over and he becomes a regular citizen of Antigua and Barbuda, to face the dozens of investigation that are surely coming.
Folks, they say prevention is better than cure. Do ALL you possibly can to stay healthy and at all cost, avoid MSJMC. God help us all if this persist for another five years.

  11. It’s not new or an isolated issue. This has been a reoccurring issue since. Sick children being left hours and days sitting on chairs waiting for assistance. Adults being treated worst. We all can’t afford to go to private doctors or fly out when we need medical assistance. Poor people continue to suffer while taxes continue to rise.
Why aren’t we utilizing the taxes to upgrade the hospital system? To train and retrain the staff? To ensure that we get “top of the line treatment” regardless of who you may or may not know?
We can do better. We should do better.

  12. Herr we go. All the politicians ate a piece of shit. Their best to do is CREATE DIVISION ( divide and conquer )…somebody mention this country is a shit hole, maybe.

Antiguans love a lot PAMPERS THIS MF. Deceivers with one thing on mind FULL UP THEIR AND THEIR FRIEND POCKETS.

  13. Many times I have been to the Hospital and have seen people sitting on the ground..People acting up because they are in pain etc….I am not saying there is not a situation at SLBMC but I think those pics are some of the things you will normally see there regardless..
