Michael Joseph, a candidate for the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) in St. John’s Rural West, has expressed gratitude to constituents and supporters who participated in this year’s Easter Monday J’ouvert festivities.
In remarks following the event, Joseph thanked residents for turning out in large numbers, describing the atmosphere as a reflection of the community’s spirit and unity.
“The energy, the unity, the joy — this was a true reflection of the vibrant spirit of our community,” he said.
Joseph underscored the importance of preserving cultural traditions, noting that events like J’ouvert play a key role in strengthening community bonds. He said celebrating together in a fun, respectful and safe environment helps keep those traditions alive.
“Reviving and celebrating our culture is important, and it is even more meaningful when we can do so together,” he added.
He also credited the participation of residents as essential to maintaining the identity and cohesion of the community, describing their involvement as vital to sustaining long-standing traditions.
Joseph closed by thanking attendees once again and expressing optimism for continued community support in the future.
