Technicians from the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) are assisting with ongoing electricity restoration efforts in Jamaica, as part of a regional response coordinated through the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC).

The team has been deployed to support the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) following recent disruptions to the island’s power network. APUA officials say the technicians are working across several communities, carrying out repairs and stabilising lines as part of the wider recovery effort.

The support mission underscores long-standing regional cooperation among utility providers, who routinely share manpower and technical expertise after major outages.

APUA says its crews will remain on the ground in Jamaica until the assigned restoration works are completed.
