Never before in the history of Antigua has a Finance Minister who happens to be the husband of the Public Works Minister, given the kind of priority and money that we are seeing now. If she wasn’t successful then something would be really wrong. She is given all the investment and tools in order to succeed. Please help out Education and Health in the same way. They could do with some money.

It’s disheartening to witness the deplorable state of our roads, stated by both locals and tourists while the head of the country publicly uplifts the very person responsible. If this same pattern of misplaced praise is repeated across each ministry, especially while burdening citizens with increased taxes, we will only hasten the country’s decline

I am once again confuse as to the PM’S assessment of who is a good, better or best Minister. A few weeks ago the PM chastise the Ministry of works for the state of the roads in Antigua. He raked them over the bench and beat them with many stripes.

He called our the technician for the terrible job they are doing and complained bitterly about the lack of progress despite the monies allocated to them over the past 10 years.

Cabinet put out hash remarks on the nation’s road infrastructure and pointed to Frairs Hill road. He the PM gave public works an ultimatum to have it fixed or else.

The conditions of the roads were so bad that the same PM went to parliament and increase the license fees by 40% to tackle to horrible state of roads in Antigua.

I get it, some roads were constructed, Jennings area, factory Road, Sir George walter High Way and Friars Hill road. I don’t think the PM was giving the Minister any credit for those, could he?

The same roads were done under Mr. Crump as the Director of works. Is he not the same Director that the same PM chastise for the same bad state of roads in Antigua?

Is it not the same director that the PM fired because of the conditions of the roads. If according to the PM, Mr. Crump is “so incompetent” why would you move him from roads where cars drive on, to the Airport where planes land on?

I would think that because of the absolute critical nature of the airport and the implications if there is incompetence constructing the runway that would lead to loss of lives you would want your brightest minds there, wouldn’t you? Would you not want the best of the best overseeing that work. Is it me, am I over thinking this or are we witnessing a red herring move?

Why would a person that can’t build proper roads be incharge of the airport runway or any aspect of the Airport? Somebody please answer me, Help! PLEASE HELP!!!

Why if the Minister is not pleased with Mr. Crump’s performance did she not in her capacity as the minister fire him or move him herself? This is certainly not a good cop bad cop moment. What this is, is very simple it is very obvious that there are things that Mr. Crump is not going along with so you need him out of the way. To sell that you came up with the incompetent argument and then you sent him to a place where incompetent cost lives, the NATIONS AIRPORT. Are you really serious Mr. PM?

Now that brings me to the crocks of this matter, the ink has not even dried on the transfer document for Mr. Crump and here goes the PM patting the Minister of works on the back, what I called burping the baby and lauding her with praises, that rightfully belongs to the director you just fried from the Job and his team. You can’t praise the Minister while Mr. Crump is there and you like, really want to praise her, but to do it while he was still there, how would you justify firing him right after?

This practice of scapegoating public servants has to STOP. I get it, we get it, you don’t want to hold your Ministers accountable so you vilify their subordinates with the nastiest of things.

NOT once Mr. PM have you called out any cabinet Minister, they are the ones setting policies. You have not held any of them to public accountability. You mask their failure and blame their failures on technicians that follow their instructions.

You praise the ministers and give them Knighthoods but ridicule and castigate their workers. What is funny in this whole think is this, Not ONE Minister ever come out and defend the people that they are incharge of. Now that is utterly shameful.

You would think that Mrs Browne would in accepting the praise from the PM would thank the hard working technician including Mr. Crump for the accolades been showered upon her.

It was not you Mrs. Minister, it was never about you. That praise belongs to the workers in your ministry. The PM should never had put that cross on your shoulders for you to carry.

I am waiting to see if you have the integrity of spirit to transfer that praise to the members of your team INCLUDING MR. CRUMP where under him all this PRAISE WORK was being done.

I not, go hold my breath though.

If you live here in Antigua you will see a huge improvement in roads and infrastructure. 99.99% of these comments are just badminded people that just love ugle. Not even a little, “well” i see a little improvement. This is sad!! Give the government a round of applause. You can see the ministry of works trying to get these roads rectified. We’ll done to the minister of public works and the government. Keep up the good works.
