ABLP Hopeful Kiz Johnson

Former Independent Senator Kiz Johnson has officially launched her campaign to represent the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) in the constituency of St. Philip’s South.

Johnson, who resigned from the Senate effective October 24, announced her candidacy with a message calling for “bold leadership” and “real change for real people.” In her campaign launch, titled The Bold Way Forward, she urged residents to embrace courage, conviction, and purpose as the foundation for progress in the constituency.

“It’s time to lead with courage, act with conviction, and move with purpose,” Johnson said in her campaign message. “This isn’t about playing it safe — it’s about creating real change for real people. St. Philip’s South, let’s step into the future.”

Her entry into active politics marks a new phase in her public service career following her tenure as an Independent Senator, where she served under the appointment of Governor-General Sir Rodney Williams. Johnson’s campaign emphasizes inclusivity, vitality, and community-driven development.

  1. Are you still with that nonsense? You were never Independent, Rodney was instructed to appoint you by the ALP. That’s why I like Lennox he calls a spade a spade, really do not want any of you to win but had to say what’s on my mind, whether or not ANR lub um

  2. Congratulations….That MURDERER should NOT be representing Us. Kizz, you have my Family of ten VOTES.

He should be in JAIL. He has done NOTHING for St.Phillips South.

WE DO NOT want a MURDERER ( GUNMAN) to represent Us.

    KIZZ all the way.

  3. Bold leadership and real change!!!!!
Are you hoping to achieve that by fighting from the inside?
Have yih not seen what happened to those before you who wanted “bold leadership and real change”.
The battle cannot be won from inside.
It has to be fought from outside.
You are seeking to bo a part of a party which doesn’t recognize independent thinking and principle.
It doesn’t recognize laws, norms, nor best practices.
Ask yourself when last the party held a delegates convention and tell me if you are happy to be a part of it and what change you intend to bring to it.
If you ask me I will say that party has bold leadership.
Not a single man dares to challenge the leader or he/she will be beheaded.
Is that the bold leadership you are talking about?
    You are young.
I do not know if you have enter motherhood.
May I remind you of Gail Christian.
She committed the cardinal sin of getting pregnant while in the senate.
For that she was unceremoniously dismissed.
Dean Jonas sought to bring bold leadership and real change to the party.
He was humiliated before his subordinates and on national television..
Michael Browne gave it his best.
    He opposed a proposed bill.
That was the end of his political career.
So tell me how you intend to bring the bold leadership and real change to a party that doesn’t respect any law, not even its very constitution.
You are a woman of high education excellence.
It is sad that your education and scruples don’t run together.
If they did, you would not want to be associated with a gang of misfits whose message from the top is to enrich themselves at the expense of the poor.
Is that want you are coming in to do????

  4. I have been watching the sad state of affairs that St. Phillips South is under due to its current, and previous poor leadership. School and roads falling into disrepair, the youth lacking motivation and resources to continue on with higher education, a higher than normal rate of unemployment, a large senior population that requires special care, and an overall lack of programs, opportunities, business growth, add to that the poor water quality and other concerns that have not yet been addressed. Once, they come beg for your vote, they will even eat a plate of food in your living room to convince you they hear you and feel your pain, but once they get elected, they fly by in tint out SUV, and if you manage to see them in public, they make you feel like you shouldn’t approach them. The power gone to their head, now they only remember you again just before next election.
The only person that has been relentlessly reaching out and dealing with the interest of the people and addressing their concerns in St. Philip South is Mr. Malcolm Alvin Charles, the ABLP and St.Philip South hopeful Yes people, put respect on his name, and pay attention if you don’t know. When you donate school supplies, and graduation gifts to children in the constituency multiple years running. That by itself help out plenty hard working parents, let the children feel valued, not to mention his full associates degree Youth Empowerment Scholarships for all local residents 16-25. He’s everywhere in the community. Organizing regular upkeep of all playing fields plus reviving the Bethesda Basketball Complex, immediately breathing life and energy into that part of the community with a health benefit for all. He’s been involved in Christmas turkey distribution, road and light repair and improvement, and so much more. It seems that for Malcolm, helping his community didn’t come as an after thought, and he doesn’t seem to be telling the people, only if he had power, he would do something. He has taken initiative and emerged as a bold, proud, strong, upstanding leader for our St. Philip South. Just imagine the vision and unlimited potential from such a highly educated person who knows how to address all our unique challenges. Let me be clear, much blessings to all challangers, but don’t deny what we see with our own eyes. Without a doubt, Malcolm Charles for St. Philip South.
