  1. Sir Lester Bird had that vision and that is he he pursued with the building of the Royal Antiguan Hotel. It was to address the need for hotel and conference tourism. But I guess the big companies found the place to small for their conferences. This type of investment is very large and government alone should not get into it.
    With regards to the Jolly Beach location I wonder what is going on here. Not too long ago the PM had a different vision for Jolly Beach. They were going to turn it over to Social Security and build villas that would be sold as CIP investment vehicles. Now he wants a conference Centre in there. Well Mr. PM. Please sleep over that one again. You may change your mind again. Just do a white paper on it. Look at those conference centres in the region and see how they are doing. Santa Domingo has many of them. You need to team up with the big names like Marriott, Hilton, Embassy Suites, Hyatt, Crown Plaza and others.
