  1. Locals have bought into the the crap spewed by some organizations, e.g. the UPP, that nothing is going on in Antigua, that life in Antigua is hard and everybody is so poor and downtrodden. So we have built up a worthless (wutliss), lazy potential workforce that prefers to kill themselves and others racing their vehicles up and down like drunk and drugged maniacs and arming themselves with guns and ammunition. This is why sensible Caribbean nationals move to Antigua and settle down with relative ease. Antiguans are their own worst enemy thanks, in large part, to unproductive, divisive politics. What a sad chapter on our history

  2. It’s not mainly not wanting to work but alot of these employers are bias, you mention you have a child and they forget about your qualifications etc and may not hire you due to having a child. Also why would I want to work a shift job e.g hotel, supermarket when I have a young child, not everyone have reliable family members or friends to look after that child while you work until 11, then having to use the staff bus, you’re getting home by 12am/1am. Working hotel is not a crime but the hours and having a child is not the best job choice for some.

  3. @faithfull fool.

Stop the hypocrisy. You never hear no UPP people say that, so stop the lying.

What many have said, and those that are against your inept government , is when Antiguan’s are going to get the best of their own country? That’s the main complaint you hear many Antiguan’s complaining about.

A job is only a small step in the fight for economical equality in Antigua. How many Antiguan’s are burning through almost all their earnings just to live day to day?

Many can’t even afford a vacation or even keep up with their bills because of the high cost of living in the island. And to add to that, many don’t even make enough money to keep up or even save a little in their bank accounts.

So stop the hypocrisy, because no one is complaining about a lack of jobs.
Antiguan’s are looking for the big opportunities that are offered to foreigners, thats what they are asking for.

Yes many come to Antigua and get very good jobs and high positions, so all the natives are asking for, is the same opportunity to move up in life just as any foreigner that come and live good.

They are asking for a level playing field, and that’s something that you are trying to insult them about, you and Gatson Browne are truly heartless.

Stand of for Antiguan’s one time nah.

Bwoi you are as insensitive as they get.

  4. Cause locals want to pick n choose wat they do some locals won’t apply 4 curtain jobs and some a dem lazy asf rather go on the corner n lime n do fckry or dem only want government work chupzzz

  5. As a Non national living here in Antigua and Barbuda,i personally encourage a lot of Local to get into security jobs, some accept, and some refused, but i think one of the main alot of Antiguans and Barbudans don’t want certain jobs, because they don’t like to follow company Rules and regulations…

  6. You, Unfaithful National, have made a couple of relevant revelations, highlighting wutliss, lazy workforce and drunk, drugged maniacs, arming themselves with guns and ammunition but you failed to direct us to the orchestrators of these habits. Handouts can kill a desire and drive to do meaningful work. Antiguan young men have been groomed to be just what you outlined. There are several brush-cutting gangs throughout the island that are on the job at 6 o’clock and by o’clock, they are through for the day and this action is repeated for five days before they receive their meagre salary. There are families who are living off vouchers and everything here was designed specifically to keep them in these pimpish conditions. You seem to be in the know so you should tell us how the enormous cache of guns got here and what’s the real purpose and why during the gun amnesty, your boss was adamant that he didn’t want those that might have been involved in any criminal activity. He should be offering pardons to those who have been incarcerated for gun possession because of his careless, lawless utterances.

  7. Who will look out for Antiguans? Politicians on both sides pander to the foreigners, giving them privileges for the sake of votes. Antiguans are constantly vilified and overlooked for key positions. There are qualified Antiguans right here, even before UWI, many Antiguans travelled to get degrees but when they come back, unless they have connections it’s difficult to get a job. Meanwhile, a foreigner steps off the plane and reports for duty right away. We are killing our culture and way of life because regardless, they are here for the mighty dollar and care little about Antiguans. Many of them see Antiguans as ‘fooly’ and when they are put over us we become a downtrodden people. It’s black colonialism. Doesn’t matter if they look like us, if they don’t understand our values and culture we become devalued and sidelined in our own country. It’s time for our leaders to stop openly criticizing their own people. When our qualified Antiguans go to many countries in the Caribbean, we are sidelined, even if their people are less qualified or have less experience. They put their people first! This is particularly evident in places like St. Vincent and Barbados. It’s time for our leaders to make stipulations even in the hotel Industry that a high proportion of managers must be Antiguan. What’s the sense we have had the hotel training school for years and when they need managers they go to Jamaica or some other island? All regional organizations when they need a leader, it’s never a native born Antiguan..Can you imagine that an Antiguan has never served as governor of the ECCB, when we have had qualified people over the years from Dr Cort to Kevin Siltson? Without Antigua the ECCB would flop yet a governor has come from St Vincent, one of the poorest OECS islands! If Antigua doesn’t wake up soon, we will become just a crust of bread…used for our economy and then discarded. And no doubt our economy will eventually fail with all our money going out to build up other nations. Leaders of Antigua, whether you are red or blue it’s time to put this nation first! What kind of legacy and national pride will you leave to our children?

  8. This country is going to explode. You can’t keep dumping foreign hungry belly smaddy on this small island without consequences.
