Prime Minister Gaston Browne says he expects the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) to secure a decisive victory in the St. Philip’s North by-election scheduled for March 16 in Antigua and Barbuda.

Speaking on the Browne and Browne show on Pointe FM, Browne said early indications from campaigning in the constituency suggest the party’s candidate, Randy Baltimore, could receive around 70 percent of the vote.

“From all indications what we have seen on the ground is going to be an extremely big win,” Browne said, adding that he would be surprised if the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party received less than that level of support.

Browne praised Baltimore and his campaign team, saying they have been canvassing across the constituency for months and engaging residents throughout the district.

“They would have traversed the entire constituency, gone door to door and gotten commitments,” he said.

The by-election in Antigua and Barbuda was triggered by the retirement of long-serving Member of Parliament Sir Robin Yearwood, who represented St. Philip’s North for decades.

Browne credited Yearwood with helping shape development in the constituency, including land distribution that allowed many families to build homes and improve their economic circumstances.

He said the area today reflects strong investment by residents, describing St. Philip’s North as a community where many homeowners have focused on expanding and maintaining their properties.

The prime minister also noted that the government of Antigua and Barbuda is continuing infrastructure work in the constituency, including the installation of a new water main intended to improve water service to both St. Philip’s North and St. Philip’s South.

  1. RALLYING CALL #14

In just over a weeks time, the constituents of St Phillip’s North have a MOMENTOUS decision to make on behalf of this great country.

If they hadn’t realised it before, they do now!

Since Gaston Browne came into prominence, he has looked after those lobbyists with their own land grabbing vested interests, to the utter neglect and detriment to the voting public.

We are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

The only time he and this damn awful government pay us any time, is when there’s a General Election, or in this particular case, the SPN by-election.

This out- of-kilter subterfuge by the ABLP can no longer be tolerated. The constituents need change, the citizens need change, and the country at large needs change.

It’s now imperative that the SPN voters show that the ABLP’S playbook doesn’t work any longer. No political party should be ruling a country for 3-4 decades … it breeds contempt not only for neglecting the public, but breeds contempt for transparency and our democratic process.

Gaston Browne and his team have got complacent!

Constituents of St Phillip’s North; on the 16th March you have to send a strong message to Randy Baltimore; the ABLP as a whole; and the autocratic Gaston Browne that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Again, the SOUL OF OUR COUNTRY is in your hands

Indigenous Antiguans trust that you’ll make the right decision…

  2. Have mouth will say whatever. Robin’s tenure enhanced his own life for all of 50 years. Baltimore will do the same.he was under Robin’s tutelage so he knows the playbook inside out. Fellow Constituents we have got to show Gaston and Baltimore that taking us for granted ends on the 16th March, when we will forward to The Dawn Of A Brand New Day

  3. At. Phillip’s North do the right thing and begin to systematically dismantle the ABLP CABAL with their gangsters, garrison style politics which they have set up in Antigua & Barbuda.

  4. @ BSC YOUNG BOYS FOR BURN
For Gaston, Baltimore and the ABLP it will definitely be a BUY BLECTION, in my mind that is how they won the last General Election, it’s the way they do things, cheating is a way of life in that Organization, they do not have the confidence to have a fair contest with all their fat chat. Just hope my fellow Constituents give them the boot on the 16th
