VIDEO: Arrest of Elderly Man Sparks Outrage Over ‘Police Brutality’
A viral video showing police officers forcibly arresting an 81-year-old man inside a barbershop has ignited public outrage, with many condemning the level of force used and questioning law enforcement’s handling of the situation.
The footage captures officers instructing the elderly man to move, but after he remained in place, they forcibly removed him.
Onlookers inside the barbershop voiced their disapproval, with many shocked at the strength used to detain him.
The situation escalated further when the man was placed in the trunk of a police vehicle, an action that has drawn widespread condemnation.
Social media erupted with criticism, with many users calling the treatment inhumane and demanding accountability.
“This is horrible,” wrote who reacted with disbelief. Martin expressed outrage, saying, “Wicked fkin ness! If fu he family na make this police get fired something wrong‼️🗣.”
Another user lamented the apparent disregard for respect, stating, “That officer disappoint me smh respect out the window 😠.” Another questioned the method of transportation, commenting, “A inna trunk police start transport nearga now awdfyt.”
Calls for an investigation continue to mount, with many demanding that authorities review the conduct of the officers involved. Law enforcement officials have yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.

This is so disturbing! How could they justify putting an elderly man in the trunk of a police car?
Is there any update on whether the family is taking legal action?
Regardless of the situation, there must be a better way to handle an 81-year-old man!
Police brutality is real, and this is just another example. When will it stop?
Did the man resist arrest, or was he just confused about what was happening?
That officer should be held accountable. No excuse for this kind of treatment!
I’d like to hear the police department’s side of the story. Was there any justification for this?
Transporting a human being in the trunk of a car? That’s beyond unacceptable!
Where are the human rights groups? Someone needs to speak up about this!
Imagine if this was your grandfather… would you still defend the police?
So we’re just throwing elderly people around now? What’s next?
People need to start recording every police interaction. These officers must be held accountable!
Was he injured during the arrest? I can’t imagine someone that age being handled so roughly and not getting hurt.
It’s shocking how some people still defend police actions no matter how extreme they are.
This is outrage police brutality is getting out of hand. This elderly man was treated worse animal I asking his family to get a good lawyer and they need to done that uniformed officer plus the other non uniform one career. They should not ever be a part of the force anymore. This senior citizen could have had a heart attack or something. I am really mad. If these police officers are non Antiguans please allow them to go back to their country of birth we don’t need these sort of person’s in our society.
Did the police even explain to him why he was being arrested before using force?
In Antigua this officer Will g’et promote for doing somthing like that
Is there a petition or something calling for an investigation? This can’t go unanswered.
I hope his family sues! There’s no reason for him to be treated like that.
Why didn’t they just call a family member instead of escalating the situation like this?
Some officers let power go to their heads. This is why the public distrusts the police.
This needs to go beyond social media outrage. People should protest this kind of treatment!
We don’t know the full context of this situation. The police gave him multiple chances to comply, and unfortunately, they had to take action. While the optics may look bad, law enforcement officers have a job to do, and sometimes that means making difficult decisions. Let’s wait for the full details before rushing to judgment.
Thank you for saying this!
O gentle hearts, dost thou rush to scorn ere truth be laid bare? The law, though stern, must needs uphold its charge, and yet, in forceful hands, doth justice oft appear unkind. Let us temper wrath with wisdom and seek the tale in full, lest judgment be but folly wrapped in haste!
In a real country he would be suspended this morning. Listen the accent to.
I wonder if the police will ever tell the truth about this incident, on two occasions I have had incidents with the police and both times they have lied about what transpired
Obviously, there are and will be many sides, versions, opinions, allegations to this unfortunate incident!
It ain’t what you do!
It’s how you do it!
It appears in some instances from news reporting, court cases, police conduct, that there could be a faction of the RPFAB operating as the KKK – Klu Klux Klan Order in America, as they cover for and protect each other.

Sick ….. Regardless of the reluctance of the man wanting to get up out the chair, there Is no excuse for the treatment from that police . He is totally unprofessional. A lot a them use their badge as a shield to do nonsense.
There are code of conduct that law enforcement officers are expected to comply with when performing their lawful duties. Regrettably here in Antigua and Barbuda, it is seldom practiced. Policemen and women must adhere and respect one’s human right while upholding the law impartially, and use MINIMAL force only when necessary. What was witnessed here was both excessive, brutal and uncalled for on his senior citizen.
Well all I can say is if he was in the Not So Great Again United States, he could’ve been tasered and probably broke his spine when the officer jammed his/her knee in his back.
Oh my gosh. Oh my goodness. If this officer is not fired and charged I will literally start to despise the Attorney General, COP, deputy COP, that officer and the ABLP (they are highly incompetent and they care nothing about hiring qualified people and training them properly).
Look at his age and inability to walk properly, he is zero threat for sitting in the chair or being present any place the officer may not want him. The force used here was criminal and what is more criminal is that other officers watched and did not de-escalate.
I hope my professional responsibility immediately charge him (them) with administrative charges for professional violations and the criminal department charge him (all of them) for aggravated assault/battery, false imprisonment, abuse of authority, malicious prosecution (or similar charges), etcetera.
Based on that officer’s actions, he CAN NOT be in any police force, even the most dunces and incompetent one in the world, Royal Antigua police force.
The officer sounds Dominican, the COP is Dominican, and the Jamaicans pleading to these Dominicans to treat an elderly Antigua proportionately and reasonably. I have nothing against our other Caribbean Islands’ people but a lot of them do not care how they make the country they move to look or how they treat locals.
The issue is, if that man, or another who is younger applied the appropriate force on that officer to protect another or self they would be in jail because nobody at the head of the police force has any morals to stand up for change and justice. Nobody at the head cares.
You put incompetent, tyrannical, selfish and greedy people in the local political office and they put the same in the departments so Antigua is getting exactly what they asked for.
Then put an old man in a trunk, you people are evil and wicked. Imagine how much he will be bumping around, hitting all over his body, and tortured in that vengeful drive to the police precinct.
Lord, open the eyes of Locals and let them see they deserve better. Please Lord help those idiots.
I can not be around humans, we are evil, selfish and greedy.
Some of you people are so delusional…. had the man complied he wouldn’t find himself in that situation….. its very simple! U guys are only outrage because of his age!
What you all talking for? Is so Antiguans like it. Plenty police are criminals using the law to do all kinds of horrible things. U all have a lot more to see. I advise the family to sue them. The old man is old at that age he may not understand properly what they were saying. Maybe he could not even hear them properly. Th point the man is elderly and should be treated with respect and gentleness. To much evil and wicked hearted police in this Antigua and Barbuda. YOU All MUST STOP.
And ANR’s description of the incident leaves alot to be desired. Did the man sustain any injuries from the slap & push outside landing on the concrete? Even the other police officer that didn’t deescalate the situation should be disciplined. The one who assaulted that man needs to be FIRED. State sponsored terrorist they are. Dehumanizing Antiguans by placing VICTIMS in trunks. There’s no justification for that offices behavior. They’re big and bad when it comes to manhandling a senior, but they HIDE and find excuses to not show up when they’re called for a prowler. Disgusting, despicable, sickening rats that LIED about the incident. The next picket should be at police headquarters!
Unfortunately, we have become numbed to violence and I justice because 1. It is not directly affecting us. 2. We have seen it so often that we have become desensitized to it. 3. We have no love for our fellowmen. Yes, age is a factor in this outrage! It should be! We are called on to respect the hoary head! White hairs matter! However, outrage is sparked because he asked why was he being arrested and nobody told him! He was just coerced into getting up. I don’t know what method was used to get him on the ground, since the camera did not clearly capture that. However, whether or not he refused to move in a timely manner, it was apparent that 1. He was not offered an explanation of why he was being arrested, thus his rights were violated. 2. Given his fragility, the level of force was unequally proportional to his age. Hence, this amounts to abuse.
Of course, some would disagree and propose another argument. However, consider if this man we’re your grandfather, father, uncle, brother or even you! Would you still describe this as reasonable force? Would you want compassion and understanding?
There can be ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for the primitive and brutal manner in which this arrest was effected. This was an elderly, seemingly frail man who had the presence of mind to ask repeatedly why he was being arrest. The level of force used by the officers is inexcusable. Why wasn’t a police car summoned to transport the old man and why was he placed in thr trunk of the vehicle??? The video is already in the public domain and so cannot be covered up. The arresting officers should be relieved of their duties, WITHOUT PAY, until an official investigation is held and satisfactorily settled.
@Simple just comply! – you are really simple minded to think that the age would not be of great concern. At that age, older persons sometimes become disoriented especially if they become dehydrated. The way the officer pushed an old man like that could also cause serious damage. The officer obvious have no respect for an elder.
Either training is lacking or he has not absorb anything in the training that was provided. It was not a situation where the elderly man was an immediate treat to anyone and hence the matter could have been handled much better.
If you had to deal with elderly parents, I believe you would understand the process. Hence, you might be the one delusional.
Idk why some ya’ll don’t shut the fuck up there is a right way and a wrong way of doing things, the man kept asking what is he being arrested for he has a right to know he wasn’t read his rights or anything by no means is this behavior right regardless of age or not, we are all human beings let it had been someone for you, I hope when some of these officers start going missing or deadly forces being used on them ya’ll won’t cry lord help my country and all these bull shit. The cop deserves to loose his pension, this isn’t his first unlawful behavior,
I don’t know the true story, but the handcuffed and put in the trunk is a new one to me. Commissioner must come to the podium and address the public.
I for one be it 10 or 80, learn to be humble when dealing with these men armed with power.
Commissioner and Cutie a waste a time, practice too much double standards too.. if any one a dem pickny get in trouble it’s a slap on the wrist that’s why they act so nuff and pompous round the dance like there invisible. Police only interfere with certain people too..it’s a ridiculous justuce system we have here.
No explanation was given on why he was being detained. Antigua is a stupid ass country, and the laws are all backwards. Get justice for this man
This cop might have just gotten up on the wrong side of the bed or it could have been a knuckle or some such thing and just decided to take out his revenge on the poor old man
I don’t live Antigua anymore. Growing up I seen a lot of bad police and hear them say who them wa kill!!!! Yes the big black police that died last year he was by Wendy’s walking with another tall cop was in uniform. He was like “u know who me wa dead? Lion!” Next thing Lion dead by he house a country.
