
Government officials say major developments are ahead for Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism industry, with a renewed push into sports tourism and conference tourism as part of efforts to broaden the sector.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne, speaking over the weekend, said tourism will remain the country’s economic backbone but noted the long-term strategy is to build out high-value niches that can drive activity throughout the year and lessen reliance on traditional leisure travel.
