SOURCE: ABC NEWS- Three people were killed in another U.S. military airstrike on an alleged drug boat in the Caribbean Sea, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced in a social media post.
In a post on X Saturday evening, Hegseth said that the vessel was “known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route, and carrying narcotics.”
“Three male narco-terrorists were aboard the vessel during the strike, which was conducted in international waters,” Hegseth said in the post. “All three terrorists were killed, and no U.S. forces were harmed in this strike.”
It marks the 15th strike — in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific — since the U.S. began its military campaign on Sept. 2, bringing the total number of people killed to 64.
Earlier this week, Hegseth announced multiple strikes in the Eastern Pacific.
The Trump administration this week provided more than a dozen Senate Republicans a secret target list for its ongoing military campaign in the Caribbean Sea, suggesting the administration is preparing for sustained operations against drug cartels and that it believed the military strikes could withstand potential legal challenges.
The meeting, which was only open to some Republican senators, was criticized by Senate Democrats.

The U.S. Navy is not randomly shooting at boats. The U.S. military has conducted a series of targeted, lethal strikes on vessels in the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean since September 2025, which U.S. officials allege were heavily involved in illicit narcotics smuggling and operated by designated “narco-terrorist” organizations like the Tren de Aragua cartel.

@Independent observer, No idea I’m not as knowledgeable able on that issue outside the basic history of the origin of the border issue since the different Guianas but resource rich and not having US companies so close might be an driving force if I had to give a opinion on it. Yes I do know they branded Tren de Aragua designation but doesn’t change the fact that usual drug trackers are caught and drugs are taken away not blown up without just reason to do so, which is why police shoot someone it was in self defense the same applies here. You can capture them and show the evidence if the claims are true.
I don’t know what conspiracy theory I am pushing other than stating I believe they are after the oil because of the trump quote I’ve use twice now because how openly he said his intention about taking their oil and isn’t the only time he talked about Venezuela which weren’t about drugs at the time because they aren’t even close to the biggest producers in the region when you have Colombia and Costa Rica.
In 2020 Trump said “If I wanted to go into Venezuela, I wouldn’t make a secret about it. I wouldn’t send a small little group, it’d be called an Army,” When Venezuela claimed it was a US after 2 US citizens where captured trying to claim the 15mil bounty on Maduro he put on during his first term.
Project 2025 from the heritage Foundation which Trump are close partners with have made reference of taking action in Venezuela stating “To contain Venezuela’s Communism and aid international partners, the next Administration must take important steps to put Venezuela’s Communist abusers on notice while making strides to help the Venezuelan people.”
