The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, has held a meeting with Venezuela’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, to discuss regional stability and security concerns.
Officials described the discussions as “constructive,” focusing on the current geopolitical situation in the Caribbean and Latin America. The leaders examined various threats they say could undermine the peace and security of their nations.
No specific agreements were announced following the talks, but both sides emphasised the importance of collaboration in addressing shared challenges in the region.
Mr Browne has previously highlighted Antigua and Barbuda’s commitment to regional diplomacy and dialogue, while Mr Gil has called for stronger cooperation among Latin American and Caribbean countries to safeguard stability.

The meeting comes amid rising concerns about political tensions and security threats across the region, though both officials expressed optimism that continued dialogue could strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation.
