The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus (UWI FIC) expects a rise in student enrollment, currently at approximately 866, with the new academic year commencing in September.

UWI FIC Principal and Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor C. Justin Robinson, highlighted the campus’s growth from just over 100 students five years ago. Speaking on state television, he mentioned that an additional 610 prospective students have applied.

“I encourage those who have applied but haven’t yet submitted their documents to do so, as we want you here,” Professor Robinson said.

The university is also focusing on introducing new programs, including those aimed at building local capacity for storm damage assessments. Additionally, UWI FIC recently hosted the Caribbean’s first Artificial Intelligence Conference, which exceeded expectations.
