PM Browne: Dealers Asked for Restitution, Opposition Should Clarify Its Position
Prime Minister Gaston Browne says his administration has called on vehicle dealers implicated in the government fleet controversy to make restitution.
In a social media post, Browne stated, “We have called upon the dealers for restitution.” He added that if the opposition United Progressive Party (UPP) believes the dealers should face jail time, it should “state their intentions unequivocally or shut their hypocritical, you know what.”
The remarks come amid continuing fallout from revelations that millions were spent on government vehicles outside normal procurement channels. Browne recently confirmed that one dealer agreed to repay $10 million and that another is being audited.
The audit and reassignment process is ongoing, with the prime minister indicating that unassigned vehicles will later be sold at public auction.

Why are some people so disengenious?
I have never heard the UPP identify anyone other than wrong doers in the scandal.
Is a wrong doer happens to be a car dealer so be it.
Are car dealers beyond arrest and prosecution?
Do they have the all clear to do wrong and rob the state?
Anyhow why is the ALP trying to lay a guilty trio on the UPP?
They want the world to believe that the UPP is accusing only the car dealers for the wrong doings in this scandal.
I am not speaking for the UPP.
However I am sure that their focus is primarily on the ALP operatives sitting behind the desk and wearing jacket and tie and the sexy women’s dresses.
So in order for the ALP to avoid scrutiny of their members in high places and especially the ministers of finance and works they are trying to push car dealers to the front.
No Gaston.
That’s not the way.
Let us not shift the focus to the car dealers.

This has the full knowledge of the two people with the largest share of the state’s budget.
And I have even forgotten that they are husband and wife.
For the avoidance of doubt the UPP has never called for anyone specifically except the wrong doings to go to jail
Gaston Browne, with all due respect. You need to deal with these untoward vehicles purchases by those corrupt individuals carrying it out, as you said you would (and hopefully you’ll use an independent body for a thorough investigation); and stop calling out the UPP. Pure deflection.

From just the headline alone I would not even bother to read this article. Gaston Browne and his band of marauders are trying reverse psychology by putting UPP on the spot. They are still trying to curry favours with people involved in robbing the county. Deal with your own shit and leave the UPP alone, this is just a clumsy way of trying to put business people against the opposition in order to get your campaign funds. YOU TINK WE STUPID IN. No wonder the ABLP can’t shake off the corruption stigma. The country running good, yet no money for roads, hospitals need loans, and the mental home falling apart while certain business people swinging from the chandelier robbing the nation blind. Ten million dollars could build a state-of-the-art crisis center and a home for troubled youth!

And the chief architect of this car scam is also a major contributor to the UPP. Damani Tabor in his resignations interviews had noted that instructions were given to never, ever call the name of the Black Hadeed. And who is building Pringle’s house? I love this. Real politics.
