UPP ‘Small Business Pull-Up’ Supports 30 Small Businesses

12
There was heightened excitement last Saturday as the ‘Small Business Pull-up’ ventured into the constituency of St. John’s Rural South. UPP Candidate for the Constituency, Gladys Potter, led a large convoy of supporters through Ottos, Golden Grove and Nut Grove to patronize 30 small businesses operators on the itinerary. This initiative is part of the United Progressive Party’s (UPP) drive to support small businesses.
“We received a warm welcome from the small business owners and it was a pleasure to showcase my community to our supporters. As proprietor of a small business, I understand the struggles that many small businesses face. Every purchase helps us provide wages for our workers, keep the lights on and put food on the table for our families,” said Gladys Potter.
The UPP team capitalized on the opportunity to share the Party’s plans and policies for the growth and development of small businesses and the community, with patrons and owners of small establishments.
“The UPP recognizes the importance of small businesses to the fabric of the community. This high-energy expedition also allowed patrons to fully experience the diversity and unique culture of this proud community,” said Harold Lovell, Political Leader of the UPP.
This week’s activation of the “Small Business Pull-Up” was the largest and most vibrant since the initiative launched four weeks ago. The tour highlighted some of the best eateries, bars, legendary shops and spanish-owned businesses in the constituency.

  1. Barbados has just announced they are going to the IMF because of the fiscal issues they are facing. Yet #HFWL and dem #UPPNEARGA wants us to believe they can lower and in some cases remove taxes and still increase spending. Don’t let them fool you with their economic PLAN. It’s an acronym for Pure Liadneas and Nonsense.

If they come to you try and buy to sweety or a sukka bubby make the sale but don’t think their policy can work.

    • @Just Saying

Jealousy is a serious matter…it eats people out and cause bitterness and sickness and angina.

It is caused by lack of ideas and innovations, lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @Just saying… I would like a response to this serious question. Have you heard of all the loans this government has taken out with outrageous interest rates? Seriously. IMF loans to Antigua or Barbados at 1+ percent interest is way better than anything that the stupid genius Gaston has secured. I await your answer.

      • And IMF loan comes with conditions. On her first day in the office Mia had to send home 1800 public servants. The UPP had signed up for that as well. But thank God they lost the 2014 election. IMF and World Bank were in there working hand in hand to teach UPP how to not run a country. And IMF monies cannot not be spent on infrastructural and developmental projects. Look at the short period that the loan they gave the UPP had to be repaid. Chinese loans for developmental projects are much cheaper and better terms for repayment

        • @ From The Sideline

And it was the funds left by the UPP at MBS that was used to pay off the IMF.

I SAY NO MORE , U USEFUL IDIOT, that up to now MBS cannot provide assistance to their beneficiaries, because GASTON AND ABLP has wrecked it!!!

  2. I would like to extend my congratulations to Mrs Potter and the UPP for this marvelous initiative.

TIC TOC TIC TOC : Waiting for the ABLP TO CRITCIZE then COPY. Hint Hint Remember the ABLP criticised the CIP when they were in opposition ” Max Hurst waking up and down the sidewalk saying my passport not for sale”
Guess what the ABLP now love the CIP. BUT they mash it up! We lost Canadian visa status!

    • Cip was gaston’s recommendations to Harold Lovell in 2009 when we had the 2nd Budget in the same year – one before 2009 election and one just after the elections when Harold Lovell Gave his most memorable speech of Antigua and Barbuda’s Economy being in a CATEGORY 5 HURRICANE….in 2009 and the world at that time never saw a CATEGORY 5 HURRICANE yet… but Harold Lovell called it on the world…
So again CIP was a Gaston Browne Idea in Opposition.

  3. I like what the UPP is doing. Looking out for the small man. A lot of them are really suffering as inflation continues to eat away at their thin profit margins. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy. Keep up the good work.

  4. Well done Gladys Potter and UPP.

We need to support the small businessman right now.

ABLP fumbled the ball on 15 billion in investment which could have created a boom in all areas of the economy.

  5. These people really think that having a one-time spending spree of a few dollars in a little store is helping the business. You will have to do that 365 days a year. But I cannot blame them. They are bankrupt for ideas in everything they do. When they won the 2014 election, they were really lost. And said, Wah ar we go do now. They had no clue at all what to do. They can only run a dolly house.

  6. @ From The Sideline

Bankrupt of ideas, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣,lol, you are joking init?

THE WORLD’S COGGING PARTY AND BIGGEST BLOGGER SAYING THAT, LOL. NOW I KNOW U R REALLY USELESS AND AN IDIOT.
YOU GOG AND COG AND COG…EVERYTHING THE UPP DO YOU GUYS COG, e.g The Tanks, assigning a % of senate seats and directors appointments to the youth, removing ABST from funeral cost, etc etc etc

    • Are you living only on Observer and Crusada Radio?
Those are political stations and not really interested in the truth…
The thing is no of those things were ever upp’s ideas but they said on Observer anything the Government does they’ll take credit for it….. so don’t fool yourself.
