UPP Leader Joins Nurses Association in Honouring Healthcare Heroes

The United Progressive Party (UPP) lent its support to the nation’s healthcare workers during the closing ceremony of Nurses Week 2025, as Senator Johnathan Joseph presented awards on behalf of Political Leader Jamale Pringle.

In partnership with the Antigua and Barbuda Nurses’ Association, the UPP honoured three outstanding professionals for their contributions to healthcare.

Cavell Willis was named Nurse of the Year, recognised for her unwavering dedication and professional excellence. Karen Josiah received accolades for Outstanding Academic Achievement after earning a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership and Management. Meanwhile, Joicelyn Mannix was celebrated as Community Health Aide of the Year for her compassion, reliability and service to the public.

Senator Joseph presented the plaques during the gala event held on Saturday, May 17, which marked the culmination of a weeklong celebration of the nursing profession. He was joined by Dr. Andre Winter, who posed for photographs with the honourees.

MP Pringle, through Senator Joseph, commended the awardees for their outstanding service and reaffirmed the UPP’s commitment to recognising and supporting healthcare workers across Antigua and Barbuda.
