Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle has thanked supporters and well-wishers for what he described as an outpouring of love and encouragement following a church thanksgiving service held in his honour.

In a message shared publicly, Pringle said the support shown by those who attended the service had strengthened his resolve and helped him remain focused.

“It is with a grateful heart that I thank everyone who attended the Church Service of Thanksgiving held in my honour,” Pringle said.

He added that those unable to attend but who supported him “in spirit” were also appreciated.

“Your overwhelming love and support keep me going and ensure that I remain focused,” the statement said.

Pringle ended the message by reaffirming his commitment to public service, stating: “I remain your humble servant; committed to the cause.”

  1. Foolish move, black panther. It was better that you as leader call a thanksgiving service for the whole party like the last time and everybody come and console each other and plan for the next time.

Instead you want to rub it in to say you alone win your seat, so you organize with your ladies to celebrate All Saints victory and so they could come and do plenty hugging and kissing of the little black boy and big him up and anoint him the duly elected leader of the party.

You just don’t get it dude. This is like selfish. You only thinking about you and your comfort zone. You don’t have the sense to see why it would be better to have a full service. But maybe that is why you can’t be the leader. Your mind doesn’t reach that far.

  2. Nobody in Antigua wants Pringle as UPP leader and they showed it in the last general election. What is it going to take for this to get through his thick skull? He was the party leader, his party got licks cyan done in the election and yet he is still acting like he will be the UPP leader going forward to the next election. Resign man!

  3. It is not so much that Pringle is not getting it but rather the entire leadership hierarchy of the UPP. That makes it rather sad. As a student of politics and a graduate in political science, I believe the UPP is presently drifting into irrelevance unless it face reality and deal with the deficiencies in its structure and leadership.

  4. @ Nobody wants Pringle you have it all wrong. Nobody in Antigua wants Pringle as Prime Minister. Many in the UPP want him as the political leader but the majority of Antiguans don’t want him as Prime Minister and that’s why the UPP did so badly in the general elections. People just nah want he and dat is a fact.

  5. A church service of Thanksgiving is a good beginning to rebuild the Party. In order not to have a splinter party I suggest the following:
Call and extraordinary convention and elect the following positions unopposed:
    Jamale Pringle- Leader
    Richard Lewis – Deputy Leader
    Sherfield Bowen- Chiarman
    Shaggy Simon -1st Vice Chairman
Malaka Parker – 2nd Vice Chairman
    Alex Browne- 3rd Vice Chairma
    General Secretary-Sean Nicholas
    Treasurer-Pearl Quinn
    Ministry Spokespersons
Choose suitably qualified persons as Shadow Ministers, to critically and logical look and comment on the operations of the assigned Ministry.
    Council of Advisors
    Baldwin Spencer
    Harold Lovell – Chairman
    Chaku Symister
    Louise Lake Tack
    Jacky Quinn Leandro
    Disciplinary Committee
    Gisele Issac – Chair
    Wilmoth Daniel

  6. @ John Public

You were going well until you made these TWO big mistakes.
#1 Sean Nicholas again for general secretary. When last you see or hear her before during or after the election? You ever hear about a general secretary for a political party quiet as the grave especially during election? You not serious about keeping her as secretary?

#2 Giselle Isaac on disciplinary committee? The same woman who tun up 1 hour late at the retreat, tun she back on the meeting because she did not like something said about her, then grab she bag and walk out?
Barse, yuh need to give advice to UPP base on facts and not your personal feelings.
