Members and supporters of the United Progressive Party (UPP) gathered at Rising Sun Field on Sunday for a public “Stand-In and Fellowship” event, renewing calls for an independent investigation into the ongoing Vehicle-Gate controversy.
The event, which began at 1 p.m., featured speeches and discussions centred on allegations of irregularities in the government’s vehicle procurement and distribution process. UPP Political Leader and Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle reiterated his party’s position that only an independent inquiry can restore public trust, declaring, “Only an independent investigation will do.”
Organizers said the gathering was meant to encourage transparency and accountability while uniting citizens concerned about corruption and governance. The UPP emphasized that the issue goes beyond politics, describing it as a matter of public interest and integrity in the use of state resources.
The fellowship is part of a broader campaign by the opposition to maintain pressure on the government amid growing public debate over the Vehicle-Gate scandal.

@SAMMY T actually sums up what’s wrong with the mindset of many unpatriotic Antiguans who don’t engage their brains (and saying SAMMY has a brain is stretching it) before going on ANR threads.
Here we are living right here with so many deceiving end deceptive practices unaccounted for from this current government – and there incompetence has been well documented over the last 10-11 years.
And all SAMMY is concerned with is Jamal Pringle and Kelvin ‘Shugy’ Simon, whilst the self-enrichment goes unchallenged by the ‘hoi polloi’ in the high echelons of our society.
