UPP Granted Permission for Motorcade On Sunday

2. How did the vehicle corruption scandal come by the name “Vehicle Gate” is there another. Scandal we don’t know about ? We need an investigation or commission of inquiry into the illegal purchase of vehicles without approval from cabinet. Those involved should be prosecuted. If a high ranking officer under the command of Commissioner Jeffers is not Disciplined in connection of this scandal, Jeffers cannot instruct any body to investigate junior ranks. Jeffers should stand up firm and say no to corruption. If the government want to give him a job, it must not have any rank to do with the force but as long as this new position have a rank associated with the Force, it make people feel that the entire high ranks in the force are corrupt. Every body know that Commissioner Jeffers hands are clean so any thing around him that is dirty, he should clean them. It is very sad that Mr Pompey went and hide at Boggy Peak and he have no signal to call and comment on this criminal matter.

6. UPP should get a LEADER and Candidates for 2028. Calling a picket with 8 persons is a shame. Cannot wait to see the 12 cars motorcade on Sunday.

7. One way or another, we should get to the core of this ring that has been swindling us from since 2014. The car dealers are not the only beneficiaries in this fraud. The ONE who is telling all, and his RUBBER STAMP must have benefitted. Why would such elaborate efforts be put into a scheme if there’s no gain for the key players? The fact that the leader who seems to know about all the intricacies of the heist is attacking anyone who is concerned about the truth, says that he has to protect himself and others. One way or the other, we are going to know.

8. This fraud issue of the vehicle acquisitions procurement effects all of us who live, work and pay taxes. In fact, I’m not even going to jump down the throats of the ABLP supporters on this occasion. This goes way way beyond political infighting.

   Vehicle-gate goes deep into the core of what’s been going wrong with financial corruption in the country for donkeys years. There’s been YIDA, CIP AND NAMCO to name but three.

   Politicians go into political arena with a decent commensurate pay scale, and during and after and seem to make vast sums of money.

   We now have vehicle-gate, but let’s be honest with each other, what will it be next?

9. This is very sad. Sad that our entire nation of people are now hiding our heads in the sand. Afraid to stand up against corruption and let the chips fall where they may. The corruption in public sector is far bigger than this Vechicle scandal and any investigation will uncover a lot of mess. No who is getting the shitty end of the stick? It’s the black picky headed contractors, suppliers and businessman and women that does business with government. Especially the honest ones.
   The government of Antigua and Barbuda continues to bankrupt locally owned businesses by engaging them and do not pay them in a timely manner or pay them period.
   The corruption in our treasury is also much more widespread than this Vechicle scandal. An investigation will uncover who is getting paid and who is not. All the over priced, over bloated contracts that did not go through the legal tendering process will be exposed.
   I am in agreement that if a police officer is involved in this Vechicle scandal, using the police procurement department. This officer should be suspended and investigated by the police. There is no way that anyone should prevent the police from investigating. Otherwise the police force will become a lawless entity and I will loose all trust. Since they are being told by the politicians who to investigate and what to sweep under the carpet.
   So it doesn’t matter who shows up for the UPP motorcade. Although I do hope it would be massive. The size of the motorcade is irrelevant. In fact I believe there are thousands of ABLP supporters, right up to cabinet ministers that are in support of a transparent investigation and public inquiry if necessary.
   The National Hero of Antigua and Barbuda is calling for a transparent investigation. Darren Mathew- Ward just was just kicked off of WTP radio station- victimized because he is in agreement.
   Time to clean up this rooted corruption in the public sector. Time to give Antiguans and Barbudans a better quality of life. Better medical facilities and services , better roads , better education and pay our teachers what they deserve . Instead of public servants stealing our tax dollars. At least do a transparent forensic accounting investigation.

10. As I said I don’t like the fancy suffix of “gate” added to a real big car crime in the millions that romanticize it as trivial catchy American phrase, UPP should a dog the home work of having internal documentation work and expose in the media to gather the support needed for these protest
