United States congratulates Antigua and Barbuda on 40 years of independence

On behalf of the government of the United States and the American people, I congratulate the people of Antigua and Barbuda on the 40th anniversary of your independence.

The United States values the partnership of Antigua and Barbuda to create a healthier, safer, and more prosperous Caribbean.

Our work together to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic delivered personal protective equipment to frontline workers, procured equipment for COVID-19 detection and patient monitoring, and facilitated the provision of tens of thousands of vaccines by the U.S. government to the people of Antigua and Barbuda.

Our juvenile justice and crime prevention programs continue to build safer communities.  We are proud that U.S. technology and innovation support power generation in Antigua and Barbuda and a path to reducing carbon emissions.

Confident in our friendship and our shared democratic values, I wish the people of Antigua and Barbuda a happy Independence Day.

  2. ANTIGUA IS NEITHER AN INDEPENDENT STATE NOR A REAL STATE:

    One major reason I fail to call Antigua & Barbuda an independent nation:

    From my understanding, the government has not given the greenlight for bars to reopen for business.
    On three occasions, I have called the police headquarters to report that a bar (located in Browns Avenue); is in full operation (openly) over the past several months. Police officers (in plain clothes) are seen (drinking rum) at this bar every day and night.

    On two occasions, the officer who answered the calls commented that he/she does not know if bars should be open or close.
    How messed up can that be! The law enforcement officers do not know the rules and regulations that they are supposed to enforce.

    These situations do not happen in a real country. It is a sign that we live in a failed, corrupt state. Corrupt from the top down. From the political leaders….law enforcement…down to the ordinary man.
    The executive, legislative and judicial are all corrupt to the core.

    I make this warning to the people of this nation: THE CREATOR will allow man to have his own way, but HIS justice is SURE.

    All who live their lives in the corrupt way: you will lament and mourn when judgement is set.

    ANTIGUA IS CORRUPT TO THE CORE!

    • Take pictures and post all over the social media platforms. That’s the only way all this bullshit will be fixed.

    • Is Antigua an independent country?
      Antigua and Barbuda became an independent state within the Commonwealth of Nations on November 1, 1981, with Queen Elizabeth as the first Queen of Antigua and Barbuda.
